we think a lot about the taste of our food, but have you wonder what if food had no taste.how would you really be able to enjoy your food.you can smell it cooking and can imagine it will be delicious but when you tasted it no taste.there are people out there who can not taste their food they have a sense of smell but no taste.remember we have 5 senses we need all of them we have the seeing, and tasting, touch, smell, and hearing.can you imagine losing any of these senses.

I can imagine, yes. I had a great-aunt who lost her sight. It takes a lot of adjusting your entire life when you lose one of your senses, especially eyesight!
But I think that eating would become only something we must do to stay alive if we could no longer taste the food. Actually, taste and smell go hand-in-hand so, if we lost our sense of smell, we would also lose our sense of taste.
I think that would be horrible! I don't eat a lot but sometimes just smelling that food cooking puts me in a great mood! Smelling things like vanilla and lavender are calming; I love them. But, if I couldn't smell them, they wouldn't have that effect on me!
You couldn't enjoy food with no sense of taste, unless you just love the act of eating, but that's an entirely different problem in itself!

My father has lost his sense of smell, thus, he has very little sense of taste. I can't imagine it, myself. His food must be overspiced for him to taste much. Yet another thing most people take for granted...having our 5 senses. Losing any of them would make for a drastic lifestyle change.

Food with no taste would be good for those who are dieting.;-) At least if they will eat, they will not like it that much because it wouldn't have taste. People who are into diets avoid sugar, salt, vinegar, and oils and these stuff makes the food a lot better. Imagine removing al of them. Boring but effective with dieting.;-)

i have read about the people with no 'taste-buds',
and i cant imagine what would be like for them..
i enjoy eating.. i really do..
i cant imagine not being able to taste the sweet + creamy icecream.. hot + savoury curry... and loads of other stuff...
but i guess, we just have to try to live our lives, and be greatful for all the other things that we are blessed with..

A few years ago, my father was treated for cancer of the esophagus with a combination of surgery and radiation therapy. The radiation killed his taste buds and for nearly two years his food was completely tasteless. He said of everything he went through, that was the worst, that it took away his enjoyment of eating food. I don't know whether he's adjusted to it, or whether his body has healed his taste buds, but he can taste food again, and it's one of the things that he's most grateful for.

I had a really bad cold last year that left me so congested that I couldn't taste food. It was very strange. I didn't feel like eating anyway, but to not be able to taste the food made it seem pointless to even bother eating it. I can't imagine losing any of my senses. They are all very important to me.
