Is a Wii a good present for a teenager?

November 29, 2008 4:35pm CST
I am thinking of buying a Wii for my 13 year old son for Christmas. Is it good value? Any problems? Anything I should watch out for? Any add-ons worth getting? It has been out for around a year so hoefully you guys have some reviews? Thanks

I think a Wii is a great present for a 13-year old. I have never owned a Wii, even though I have played it. I think if you buy the Wii console, it comes with the remote. Not sure about add-ons. I think it is good value. It used to be much more when it came out. I own a Xbox360 and think it is the best system right now with the best graphics. I bought the Xbox for more but you can get it now for only $199.99.

I think the Wii is more expensive. Would you rate the Xbox as better value then?

The last time I checked, I think the Wii was $299.99. Another problem with the Wii is its availability. Most stores I checked, they were sold out of them. The Xbox has great games like Call of Duty and Madden.

I don't have a Wii but I wouldn't mind having one. It looks like it would be a lot of fun and looks like there are a lot of good games for it, unlike some of the other games. Hope you can get it and enjoy it.

Go for it, I'm sure he wil have great fun, and you too. We have brought one for our three children, a gift from us, not Santa as they will have to share it.

I look forward to trying it out when I see you next! I thought I would ask him to contribute half the cost - make him earn the present? What do you think?
