How much did you spend on your last computer? My family just bought a new desktop PC yesterday as part of a package w/ a monitor and printer for $1129. My laptop was $700 when I got it a few months back. How about you guys?

The computer i am using now cost my about US 800 and i bought it about 2-3 years ago in China. It has serve me well and is doing alright at the moment although i suspect that i may need to change it soon. I do not have a printer and it comes with a 17 LCD monitor. prices of laptop has declined by a lot in china recently and now i am able to get a decent laptop for about US 300-500 which is quite a deal and i think the current financial crisis is a reason behind it. So i may be changing to a laptop soon

I have a school issued, HP Tablet PC. So, technically, it cost me nothing, but it is covered in tuition. But, price-wise, it costs 1300$ USD.

I bought my second computer that I'm using now is about $200. I just get it from a seller in my local bidding website. Its quite oaky and it works well since I used it for surfing the net plays a little game and doing a few graphic works. My first computer really is pricey. Its a n apple i-mac series. It cost me about $1000. I bought it in 2000 and it still works fine but it only serve the purpose for my graphic project only.

My computer was probably about 300. Although, it's from a few years ago, and the motherboard got replaced, so... eh? Also, Custom Built computers ftw!

I consider my self "lucky" on this topic. i GOT A SUPER DEAL!! :) :) :) I have 2 laptops both are zv5000 and the only reason is because I was on EBAY and saw a laptop (1500) I wanted that was exactly like the one I already had and thought well If I can pick up a cheap one for an extra battery and ram and hard drive. then that would be very handy if I ever had a problem. (i had PAID 1500 FOR ORIGINAL but then it went on sale with in 30 days for 500 less 800 - 250 a rebate for final cost of 550.00 the store i got it from - acknowledges when items go in sale ) It had 10 minutes left and no bids starting bid Guess? .01 for ONE PENNY! with and an added extra they were including an expansion that came with Keyboard and expansion base (retail is 250.00),ONLY KNOWN PROBLEM: SCREEN DIDNT COME ON FOR THEM. I thought for a minute OMG brand new computer 2 month old computer for 1 cent how could I go wrong? I can use it for parts if anything else.RIGHT? ..or NO big deal I will just hook it up to a Monitor! and use it as a desktop. So BID 5.00 AND I won FOR .01 NO one bid me up at all.. I paid 1 cent for the computer and FREE for shipping. So I get this computer, and I hook it up - BRAND NEW CONDITION, LABELS STILL ON..BATTERY FULLY CHARGED AND THE EXPANSION BASE. perfect what could be wrong with the monitor the told me no problems what so ever. I had no clue that it was barely used but couldnt understand why they were selling something under warranty. The didnt want a laptop anymore - so I also got their extended warranty. HONEST!! All i did was turn it on, and hit the FN KEY + F4 (FUNCTION AND F4) TO "SWITCH TO MONITOR" (i have a Vga I could use) TA DA! IT WORKED. WIRELESS AND ALL AND THE SCREEN! WELL -- Feeling guilty, I wrote to the seller and told them what was wrong...They said they were NOT interested anymore and thanked me for information and told me to ENJOY!!! YES! I GOT A GREAT DEAL ON EBAY! .01 FOR A 1700.00 DEAL wow ( I DESEERVED A BREAK) I feel really thankful! It has BEEN 3 1/2 YRS AND NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPUTER AT ALL! I think the expansion base has helped extend the functionality of the computer. Congrats on your buy, that sounds pretty good for your computer. I do want new but I will wait till next year when they bring out Windows 7 and I am not going to complain. These HP computers have served me well! the only thing I do is a lot of downloading- lol I fill up hard drives - so I just keep buying new! It's a blast hehehe!
