Have you ever seen a dog climb a fence. Until this afternoon I'd have had to say no i've never seen this.
I've been wondering for a couple weeks now why my cats were acting starved when i was making sure i fed them special and away from the dogs...about 5 feet off the ground to be exact..on top of the old goose house. So today i fed them early while it was daylight so i could see what happened. Did everything exactly the same...fed them then fed my old dog (Mackenzie) (he has special food the pup cant have) and made sure Zeus (the pup) didnt eat it by sitting and petting him til Mackenzie was done. Took the can of food inside with me turned to look out the window and saw...
Zeus with his paws on top of the goose house and his back legs braced on the fence pushing himself up on top til he got up there where he proceeded to grab my cats and FLING them off the house at which point i was already running out the door hollering at him.
Never saw anything as funny looking as him climbing the fence. I knew dogs were smart..i was told Huskies are VERY smart but i never thought he'd teach himself to climb a fence.

Hey saundyl! So Zeus is not only a doggie food napper but
he climbs fences too! That is pretty odd for a dog! But,
you are right about huskies! They are very smart dogs and
very strong! And he's only a puppy! Just wait until he's
grown! He is going to be a handful! Better get him trained
quick or he is going to be running you! They are beautiful
smart dogs, but they are hugh and very strong! If he was
able to teach himself to climb a fence who knows what he will
do next!

I'm intending to take him to more obedience training this spring (after the snow is all gone) I was impressed with the training done with him at the local humane society - someone dropped him off when he was 6 weeks old and i got him when he was 8 months. He knew to come when called and sit - still working on the stay thing he thinks he can sneak off on his belly. He took to his new name (he was murphy/loki/mystic) when i adopted him.
He's a beautiful dog. Noticed hes not very fond of men. He's a major suckup to me but men he tends to either hide from or he growls at. He's getting used to my dad now he doesnt hide from him.
