i have a neighbour who has a naughty son. he is really mischievious and can get on your nerves quite often. Sometimes he comes to our house and jsut rings the bell and runs away and at times he will come and pluck a leaf from one of our favourite potted plant. I have complained to my neighbour a few times but he takes it very casually and sayd "oh he is just a child." He does not even reprimand his son. How do you handle this? I caught hold of the boy and told him that it was not correct to do such things but he just does not learn. I was contemplating giving him a little thrashing but then it would anger my neighbour and he may complain. how do you handle such a child?

sounds like the kid is looking for attention. if his dad isn't getting onto him for the things he does that tells me his dad doesn't really do much with him. i say play his game. give him the attention. go ring his doorbell, and then run off.

First of all, don't touch your neighbor's kid or you could end up in cuffs. You didn't mention how old this kid is but if he's older than five or six and the parents refuse to keep him from bothering you like he is, call the police. It may sound like a minor thing now but this kid is learning what he can get away with and he will only get bolder as he gets older. Maybe having a police officer inform him and his parents that he needs to stay off of your property will send the right message. Good luck.

I am sorry to hear about this, hmm, this kind of situation can be hard to deal with, well you could take the parents to court for their child stealing your plants if its on your property, well you did tell the parents and they refuse to listen, let the judge be the decision making of this. Also call the cops, and maybe the neighbors will listen. but then again this will cause problems, so then again where do you win, would you really have to move away to not deal with such nonsense, or stay and just pray he grows up and stops doing it. good luck with this one, would drive me nuts.

Lol! not to make light of your post... but it kinda puts me in mind of Dennis the Menace..... Perhaps you should watch some of those episodes or the movie.... Maybe you will get some ideas on how to deal with the menace from mr. Wilson and Alice.....
