Do you think that music can ease your mind? I do because when I am feeling down I just put on my MP3 player and listen to the musicand I can slowly feel myself getting happy again.

Yes,music can ease and refresh our mind.It depends on the type of music we are hearing.Classical music can cure many diseases like blood preassure and nerve problems.I am learning south Indian classical music for the last 15 years and experiencing its power.

This depends on your situation-if your depressed mood is caused by something of routine then music or a good book can relax you.You can also read some jokes or humorous story. On the other hand it is a very big worry then your mind would only get back to the same troubling thoughts.[say about a worrying illneszs of a loved one or so].In that case you will have to resort to prayer and that would be a better solution. On the other hand it is a concern about your finances, then listing down your income and expenditure heads and planning to take stringent measures would relieve you.If it is going to be an immediate class test[if you are a student], then taking deep breaths and meditation would help you.If it is the worry of imminent exams, setting upa time table for work with the idea of fulfilling it would help you.If it is some medical treatment , then talking about it to your friends may relax you. Finally if my elaborate answer is going to add to your sombre mood and irritation then closing the window would relax you.[just for a bit of lighthearted humour-cheer up!]

Depends on the music. It can make you sad too. But if you listen to the right music, yep it can ease your mind, definitely.

I don't tend to have the most relaxing music. I have some but not much. Music can make you feel many different ways emotionally. Music is very powerful.

I do believe that ever since but now that I have a night shift at work, I can’t find it soothing in a way that I am saddened of it. Before, before I go to bed, I listen to music and I don’t care if it took me sometime before I finally go to sleep. It took me sometime because while listening to music I used to remember a lot of things or sometimes I think of imaginary things that’ll take me hours to imagine things. Hehehe.. But now that I’m a career person, after work, I don’t listen to music nor before going to bed because I value sleep now. I really love music and I miss it a lot. Before I used to listen to music when I’m on my way to school but now, I can no longer used my music gadget that often. I hope those old times will come back.

Depends on the kind of music .Once you are listening to the kind of music that you like it should ease your mind and make you want to sing along. There are two kinds of ways that it may ease your mind ,one it may make you want to bop your head and stamp your feet usually those songs with an up tempo infectious beat. Secondly you may have the kind of music that makes you so calm, you tend to get into a retrospective mood or you may want to sleep. Usually too music that have special significance like your wedding song or the song you first made love to can have therapeutic value for you. Instrumental and soul music are universally known for their soothing abilities
