This morning I was thinking about the times when I've been made a victim of corruption or the times that I myself have been an exponent of this evil when it struck me that corruption has become an inevitable part of most of our lives. What do you think is the main cause of this evil showing its ugly face so often in our lives? is it need or greed?

I think in most cases ,it is greed oriented.Even if it starts out as need oriented ,after a time it becomes greed ,that is when it becomes lucrative.Consider an official in a government who decides to award a contract to his friend in the hope that he gets some of the proceeds. This official is not poor but he is looking at the benefits he can derive, that is greed.Pretty soon he starts thinking of planning a trip to Aspen based on hos proceed from corruption

Greed creates the need to be corrupt. I don't think corruption has anything to do with need for money. It's a need, instead, for power and a chance to manipulate others and have them bow to your desires. Need makes most people work really hard to get ahead. Greed makes most people work really hard and look for every possible angle through which to acquire more. But corruption is criminal and removes the pride one may have in achieving financial and other goals.

Both I guess, some people tend to be pushed to it due to want or lack, but some people've got some much and would still always want more, those set are driven by greed.
