i have been planning to learn a new skill... something that will keep me occupied when i am in the bus or train, and something interesting maybe knitting? or crochetting... i am rather interested in crochetting, as i have learnt the basics from a tutor before. sadly, there is not really any use for knitting or crochetting here in singapore, since it is summer all year long and making woolen clothes is not really a good use of time. but i am interested in learning!!! which skill do you think i should take up? crochetting or knitting? any experience? what other skills do you think it will be good for me to take up?

Crocheting is a lot of fun and relaxing. There are so many free patterns out there and yutube even has video tutorials. You can make much more than clothing. there are also many choices in yarn and thread so you would not have to use wool.

I want to learn crochetting too. But as i'm working far away from home, i can't learn from my mom or aunts. No time for me to learn except after work, and i do want to enjoy the beautiful night at home. Besides in this small town, there's no such traing at all. I dream of kintting a sweater for those i care about

I used to crochet and knit when I was in school. Very good for keeping busy during those long school holidays. It has been years since I last crochetted or knitted. Well, it is not entirely useless. If your interest is there, you can always knit some scarfs or crochet some tops to sell on the internet. Or if you like, some accessories like handphone pouches, ez-link card holders or even coin pouches. There are so many things you can knit or crochet that is useful. Even a sweater for the cold air-con room in the office or the lecture theater is useful. And you can to custom make it for yourself some more. Something unique that no one else would have. That is a nice hobby. Start with crochet. That is easier to learn. Then go on to knitting after you are bored with crochet.
