That is what they sound like. So we already know that they speak gibberish and we can't understand a word they say! But that is only part of the mystery, since as far as I can remember, we never see them either! Last night, as my kids were watching the classic Peanuts cartoon of "Snoopy Come Home" on television, I got to wondering, just what do the parents, teachers, etc. of the Peanuts gang look like? Anyone care to make any speculations? LOL!

I don't think they were supposed to be seen. As Peanuts is a story about Charlie Brown and his child friends the adults are really unimportant in the scheme of the story lines. Kind of a childhood philosophy...

Hehehe...yes I understand why the adults are never seen and why they can not be understood. I was wondering if anyone would care to guess what they look like? It's not about rather or not they were important to the story lines or why they are not seen or understood, just a fun posts meant for the imagination. What do you think they look like? lol

I get the feeling that the adults probably would have looked like larger versions of the Peanuts gang. From childhood to adult hood, the human form does undergo changes - for me, most notably on women, the chest area. Another thing is that clothing also changes. A small adult either has his clothing specially made, or he ends up wearing children's clothing. I cannot really describe the specific differences, but people can tell the difference, somehow. I conclude that the reason that there were no adults because drawing them might have been too complicated for him. Uh - the boobs on Charlie Brown's mother & on Ms Othmar are too low ... Nope, that's too high ... Uh - lower them just a little bit ... Still not right ... Oops, they're not shaped right ... Oops, they look too lopsided ... I give up, & just sticking to only the children.

So what are you saying; that it's hard to draw boobs on oversized Peanuts characters?

That, & to draw adults. There are subtle differences so that adults don't look merely like oversized children.

I did a lot of research on Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang because I was creating a site called: Peanuts Gang Christmas Decor http://www.squidoo.com/peanutsgangchristmasdecor Here's what I found: Charles Schulz did it on purpose. He purposely wanted the Peanuts Gang's world to be separate from that of the adults. Funny, when I get mad at my fiance I tell him: "Don't even bother talking. All I hear is wha,wha,wha,wha,wha..." LOL!

Hehehe! "Don't even bother talking. All I hear is wha,wha,wha,wha,wha..." That's a good line! I know the adults were left out on purpose. The question was, what do you think the adults look like? There is no right or wrong answer, just something to use your imagination on! hehehe!

I don't know what they look like but I think I know why they talk the way they do. I think that Charles Schultz didn't want the adults to invade the perfect little world that he had built for the children in his script. It is such a kid centered strip that adults are totally unnecessary except to know that they have a rather irritating way of interrupting the fun the kids are having. Just my thoughts.

Yes, that makes perfect sense and probably is why they talk that way and why you never see them. Those are interesting thoughts.
