Is Anybody Addicted To A Specific Video Game Right Now?

I would not say i'm addicted to a game right now, but I was playing Gears of War 2 and just recently beat the whole storymode. I felt the solo storymode campaign ended too fast and should have been longer. I know the real deal for Gears of War 2 is definitly online which I will play once I renew my Xbox live membership. I found out its cheaper paying for a whole year of xbox live than paying monthly so thats what i've decided to do. Halo 3 solo storymode campaign seemed like it went on forever and I got really far and somehow I don't know why I lost my saved information in Halo 3 storymode so its back to the start which i'm not motivated to do again. I never really got into the first Gears of War game although I played it but was not commited to it at the time because I was more into Smackdown vs. Raw 08.

This is a pretty good discussion and I am sure a lot of people out there have a opinion on what they think is the best game ever or a game that they are really addicted to right now, either because of characters in the game,or the story line,or other reasons, and then I am sure there are a lot of people who do not have a favorite game or a game they are addicted to,because they do not like video games which I know a lot of people do not like video games because they say video games are a waste of time and do nothing but cause children to become violent and hateful to other people which I think is a load of crap and is not true at all,or because they do not play video games very often because they prefer to spend their free time doing other things like reading a book, watching television or doing other things such as maybe going outside or hanging out with friends, and I can understand why people would or would not like video games since there are so many different video games out there today, and that is cool that you like Gears of War,and I have always been a big fan of video game and have always played video games, and it has always been one of my favorite hobbies, and I would spend hours on end sometimes playing video games like they were going out of style lol,and I have always liked games that were centered around either stealth like the Splinter Cell games, and me and my fiance have an Halo 3 Edition X-box 360 and one of the main reasons I wanted it was for Splinter Cell Conviction so we can finish our collection, and then war games such as the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon and Halo, and the other main reason I wanted the 360 was for Halo 3 even though I also want Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Advanced War Fighter 1 and 2,and I also like a fer racing games such as Need For Speed Most Wanted,I am not sure if you could say I am addicted to any games, even though I recently finished Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64 and I want to play it again because it is so awesome and my brother let me and my fiance borrow Twilight Princess for the Game Cube which seems like a lot of fun and we are both looking forward to playing so we can see if it is as good as Ocarina of Time, and I am also playing Rainbow Six Vegas that my fiance gave to me for Christmas and even though our 360 is having trouble reading the disc and it will freeze up from time to time if I pause it,and sometimes it will load without a picture only with sound, and if I try to go to the dashboard it will freeze up which usually sucks, and I am not sure what is wrong with it,but I am trying to get through the game, and I had beaten Halo 3 like five times and I had all but two of the achievements that I can get without having X-box live which was like thirty six out of forty nine, but my gaming profile disappeared which sucked and I am kind of addicted to the game, and I want to play it again so I can get all of my achievements back, just like I have to start over on Rainbow Six Vegas, and there are a couple other games I am kind of addicted to that I want play again because they are a lot of fun,but there are too many to list, just like I know my fiance has several games she is sort of addicted to.

Video games are my favorite hobby. Also what you are saying about your 360 and it freezing up. At times although its rare my 360 will freeze up. I don't consider that much of a problem because it doesn't happen much. When I first bought my 360 it froze up and quit working altogether and the dreaded 3 red lights came on so I had to send it back to get repaired to Microsoft like alot of people. Thats why Microsoft extended the 360 warrenty to 3 years because of those problems. So i'm thinking my 360 still has a some past freezing problems but its barely noticeable.

Wow, shooters. I am not really much into shooters. I am addicted to a few titles though, but the games are for DS. I kind of filled up my library with so many RPGs I can't even remember which ones I've finished so far. Right now I'm playing Master of the Monster Lair, Away Shuffle Dungeon, and Chrono Trigger DS. Yeah, probably not that good looking, but hey, Chrono Trigger is included in the Top 100 games of all time list of almost every lists, except those lists of generation 2000 brats that doesn't know what the word "classic gaming" is, so it's good. Really good. Have a good day. BTW, the only GoW I've ever played is God of War, maybe I'll play Gears of War by the time I get a better PC(if ever they are ported, which usually happens to X360 shooter games) or until I begged my father so much he'll buy us a 360, or until I have MY own money to buy one. Until then, it's pretty much the same DS RPGs for me. If ever, I'll be addicted to Metal Gear Solid 4 by next year. And I really need that 360...there's no Yoda on the Soul Calibur PS3 version...sad...I wish the 360's the one who's originally black. Heehee.(Because I think they kind of followed the version through the console's color, 360 is white so the "Light side of the force" version of Soul Calibur was made for the 360, with Yoda of course...grrr...and I really want to battle out cute li'l Yoda out with Oriental Swordsmen)

I remember hearing and seeing some pictures of Chrono Trigger. It use to be the rave among some RPG fans I use to know. I never did play it though. I've never played Metal Gear Solid 4 yet but remember playing the first MGS and really loving it. I played Metal Gear Solid 2&3 and I didn't have the intrest as much as the first. Metal Gear Solid 4 looks great though but I would not get a PS3 just to play. I'm very happy with my 360.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my PS3 too. Anyways Gears will be out in the PC for a while, so I'm still thinking if I want to buy a 360 or a well rigged PC(which I can use for game development as well, heehee). I'll go for the PC. That's the main reason I'm happy with the PS3, because all those good exclusives for the 360 tend to end up having a PC port (or being ported on the PS3, such as Bioshock), and I'm really planning on getting a very good PC for my game development needs. And yeah, you have to try Chrono Trigger. But seeing you enjoy Gears, I'm thinking that Chrono Trigger might not be your cup of tea. But be sure to try it, it's available on SNES emulators as well.

Well, I was addicted to Animal Crossing: Wild World, but it's such a hassle to feel you have to play everyday. Plus, it got tiresome. I guess I am kind of hooked on Smackdown vs. Raw 09. I want to move up the online leaderboard pretty badly.

I have not played Smackdown vs. Raw 09 but really want to play it. I also like and am focused at least somewhat on moving up in the Smackdown vs. Raw leaderboard online. The highest i've ever gone up on the online leaderboard for Smackdown vs. Raw was ranked 17 or I know it was under the 20th ranking. This was for Smackdown vs. Raw 07 though and had to play alot just to do it. There was alot pissed off people along the way as well. It seems like everytime I would beat somebody they come later on and start chatting in a bad mood. Its just a game who cares and why is it that serious I would be thinking as its more fun than competitive for me.

I was wrestling a ladder match against someone online and it had to go on for at least fifteen minutes. He was beating me up pretty badly, but I kept coming back and everytime he went for the ladder, I'd shove him off. Well, I guess he thought the match had gone on long enough and wasn't able to beat me, so he disconnected.

I think I played the first Saints Row and it was a cool looking game. I didn't get that far into it. I'll probably give it another run at the second installment and at least play it online as I didn't do they for the first one or even remember if it had online access.

I am currently addicted to Heroes of Might and Magic 3. I know it is an old game and is not at par with the graphics and sound of new games. But I believe that games are not to be defined by the superficial values alone. A game should also be fun and engaging. I mean look at all the Wii re released games. The graphics are mostly 8 and 16 bit but still sell well because of the fun factor. I like completing the campaign mode which has some cool cut scenes. Also I like competing against the computer or a fellow player on one of the dozens of Scenarios. My town of choice is the Tower which is owned by the wizard kingdom of Bracada. Their proficiency in spellcasting and their numerous troops with ranged attacks fits my style of play. I usually start out with Solmyr because of the chain lightning ability that he has. This could wipe out multiple units at one stroke. Another aspect that I like in the game is the turn based aspect which rewards people on pure strategy and not people with quick reflexes and trigger fingers.

I remember back in high school the Might and Magic card game was really popular. When lunch in the cafateria was happening they had a group full of alot of people playing the card game every school day. I also know that some of the cards were highly valuable price wise and I guess you could say were collectors items. I played the card game a couple of times but never caught on to the addiction. Your talking about the video game though. Thats cool about the stratagies and being rewarded for them instead of having fast reflexes. I like to use at least some stratagy in video games I play and not just be focused on the reflex aspect.

i am addicted to football manager which is a soccer simulation. i have been playing it since early 90s when championship manager was released and had followed the game since with each new released version. The game is extremely addictive and i can play for it days and nights non-stop even during my exams period. When i started working, i was also playing it in my office almost daily. Even now, i am still playing it at home and i like to control my favourite team which is Liverpool.

It sounds like its worth trying to play. I have not played sports manager games but seems good. I figure its like fantasy sports teams which you manage against others on sports web sites such as nfl.com,nba.com and so on.

there were a few games which i was addicted badly. Championship manager/football manager are football simulation games which kept me occupied without leaving my room and PC days and nights. I still play them now almost daily but not as addictive as i used to be. maybe i am older now. lol. Another game is Diablo. I kept playing round the clock to increase my character levels and would not eat and sleep cos i kept on wanting to complete quests after quests. each time, i tell myself, another 10 mins would do and it would drag from day to night and night to day. haha

I would probably say in as far as addiction that i am pretty much addicted to half life two or runescape. they are both probably neck and neck because im al lvl 41 in runescape and i only have three lvls to go in half life two.
