I wasn't convinced!

Well I have seen so many discussions on mylot about how to earn more money or how people earn their money. Most people have tried to convince me that starting discussions is the way to go but I have always just plodded along doing my own thing, responding to my many friends discussions or commenting to peoples responses to my few discussions I do start! Well yesterday there didn't seem to be much happening on myLot so I started quite a few discussion (well it was a fair few for me!) and I must say that it did seem to make a lot of difference to my earnings as I didn't respond to as many discussions as usual. Now I can see why many people just write discussion after discussion about this and that and everything and nothing and never respond to people. I am still quite happy to plod along as I enjoy responding to my friends discussions and commenting to people's responses but I will try and start more discussions.
What do you reckon?

Like you Humbug I very rarely start a discussion. Being the shy and retiring type I can rarely think of anything to say. It's a dreadful affliction isn't it? LOL.
I start a few and respond to a few. I don't put as many hours in as I did once in fact. But I still enjoy coming here and love to play with my friends until our mums call us in for tea!

Sounds interesting. Did you have very many responses to the discussions? I usually only start a couple here and a couple there. Sometimes I get a bunch of responses, sometimes I get none. But I haven't really been able to tell the difference.
Maybe if I start a bunch of discussions in one day I will be able to tell the difference. Thanks for the advice. I think I'll starting making notes to myself on different discussions to start. And then when I have quite a few ideas, I will start them all in one day.

I am still getting responses to the discussions actually!! I don't think many of my friends were online the same time as me yesterday so that is why I didn't have many discussions to respond to and that is why I started a fair few of my own and so my earnings seemed to fair a bit better. Now I have to go back and make comments to all the responses I have got whilst I was asleep and everyone else was on myLot!!

I havn't found much of a difference in earnings made from posting discuaaions and jut responding to others. I do spend most of my time on mylot responding to other peoples discussions as I find it easier than trying to think up worthwhile things to start a discussion about. I have sort of given up trying to figure out the earning system here and have just decided to have fun posting.

Hi there breezie
That is what I normally do is respond a lot but if I do start a discussion it is because I really want to and like yourself want if to be a worthwhile discussion. I get fed up these discussions people start that are just a thought that sprung in to their mind.
