Treating ourselves gently.

We live at a time when there is great pressure to succeed and do more in our lives. This brings on stress and other related problems and society suffers. We need to slow down, to care for ourselves in much the same way as we care for a child, with patience, love, and consideration.Treating ourselves gently is a great way to alleviate stress and is a mature act of respect for both the body and the mind. We need to nurture, even pamper ourselves, so that we will be better able to cope with the things that are happening around us. Let's slow down today and recharge our spirit so that we can find the strength to work through the concerns that confront us every day. Our friends will thank, those we work with will thank us, but even more importantly, our families will thank us.

Hello Pose. You are right that we are supposed to gently treat ourselves whenever and wherever. Often we are given so much stress from our work and I think that it is bad for our health if we always let the stress mess up our life. Now it is time for me to slow down and recharge my spirit for the strength to work through the concerns confronting me every day. I thank you so much for the nice discussion of yours as always. Take care.

Yes and no one should get mad at me or yell or scold me, then I will be nice and fine. That is where I get most of my stress. It is not bow fast I work or how little sleep, it is that "don't do this! don't do that! no I meant that one! You did not close the door!" I slow down too much, I will get fatter than I am.

I do agree with your statements. They are always filled with mature thoughts and reflections about life. Unfortunately I am at the time where I am always on the go I am always busy to finish off things without realising that I must enjoy life and that life is too short. Thanks for your posting. © ronaldinu 2008

Hi ronaldiu, Thank you for your comments. I remember a period in my life when I was so involved with work and other community activities that I had little time for relaxation. Although it was all very worthwhile activities, it couldn't continue as I had to make time for myself and my family. Find some time to relax, whenever possible. Blessings.

Yes, in order to love others is important to start loving ourselves first. We need to take care of ourselves ,so that we can take good care of our families.

Hi There. Good Morning! Yes, you are so right! I agree that we need to slow down sometimes for ourselves because sometimes, we really forget to check out ourselves. I, myself, think that I need a break to pamper, nurture and love "ME". I have been too busy taking care of others that I forgot about "ME". But I am glad that it is not too late. So, yes! We need a time off... we need to live our life tot he fullest! Cheers! Happy Mylotting!

Hello, Stress sure can over take us ! I think we all need time to just breathe in and out and know that this too feeling will pass over time even maybe , but it will pass . Today I just feel nervous and have knots so bad . Hope my warm shower will help some . Hate this feeling

This very true! I think we often need to remind ourselves not to be hurrying... Why hurry? Also, we are all working too hard.. expenses are too high and then we have lots of consumerism piled on top (and of course the more things we buy, the more money we need to earn!) I like to pamper myself with quietude.. But can't say I do it enough!

I do my best to stick with only doing God's will in my life. Some Christians do not realize that you can be doing something good and it be wrong for you, because it is not God's will for you. This is how a lot of Christians get stressed out and find little time for other things in their lives.

I do not treat myself with kid gloves, neither do I abuse myself. I do what is required and I will not spare the effort to get something done. I do know when to stop and wait for another day. Cheers!!

You're so right, Pose. It's really hard, though, to learn this when you're on that fast-paced trail. I work hard at learning how to relax, and it's really one of the most difficult things I've ever encountered. I know it's important and it can do so much for every aspect of life, but even remembering it isn't easy. I do hang in there, though, because it's so worthwhile.

I agreee, we need to treat ourselves gently, forgive ourselves and love others, only in this case can we get the real peace at heart.
