B.A., BSc., B.Com, B-Tech like this. Are these degrees given only to bachelors? What about married persons?

I do not think degrees are conferred only on Bachelors. Even married persons, aged persons, men and women are conferred with degrees when they complete 3 or 4 years in the college. I do not find any reference in the educational dictionary as to why this word BACHELOR is used.

It is called Bachelor as it is an undergraduate degree. Once completed you become a graduate (almost like getting married)! It is because you are a a bachelor (a baby) to the are you are studying. Post Graduate degrees are for graduates, and are called Masters as you become a 'master' in your field. It has nothing to do with being mariied or not!!!!!!!!
