Not too sure what is that. Only know that the previous Macbook allows Firewire, and it allows fast data transfer.

Firewire What is it - Does it really work?
FireWire is one of the fastest peripheral standards ever developed, which makes it great for use with multimedia peripherals such as digital video cameras and other high-speed devices like the latest hard disk drives and printers. That is a little bit of what this one site said about it and I will give you the link so you can read up on it a little bit. I'm going to read up on it as well because I have never seen or heard of it. http://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/firewire/index.html I'm always looking for up to date technology.
