Kids who think their fat

My daughter just turned 13 and she's been having some issues. For awhile, she stopped eating. She constantly says "I'm fat"! I've taken her to the doctor and he gave me some advice. It's working so far. I've talked to her and tried to explain to her that she is not fat. She doesn't even weigh 90 pounds. I guess, my point is kids can be so cruel these days. Peer pressure is horrible. I remember going through the "nobody likes me" stage and it breaks my heart for her to have the feelings that she's having, although, I do feel like it's normal. She is 13 and going through puberty and so on. The only thing that I feel like I can do for her is be there for her. Anyone ever went through such? If so, how did you deal with it?

Yes as a little girl, to know that herself is not perfect is totally disturbing. I had ever care very much about my appearance when I was a little girl (I don't mean that I am not care any more, just mean that there's no need for a little girl to care so much), and I found there's a little black spot under my right eye, i felt very sad even though my mother told me that the black spot makes me looks ever more pretty.... Then when I am enter the seven grade, I have other pressure, if I did't study hard, i could be not able to upgrade, so I pay most of my attention on study, and don't care about the spot any more... I care about the spot after I become a college student. And then I found that, the tiny black spot does makes my eyes more beauty... haha
