I use to read allot and it seems like anymore I never have any time. I was curious if anyone ever takes the time to just sit down and enjoy a good book.It seems alot of books have been replaced by audiobooks and things like the Amazon Kindle reader.Do you purchase books? What was the last one you read?

I usually have at least one book that I am reading all of the time. When it is nice outside, I have a tendency to read more because I will sit on the balcony outside and read. The last book I read was "The Courage to be Rich" by Suze Orman. Someone had given it to me. Right now I am reading a book called "Mean Business". It's pretty good, but I am not reading through it nearly as fast. I usually purchase books at warehouse stores at the Tanger Outlet where they are cheap, or I will buy used books at the library. It seems like if I just check them out, I don't seem to finish them. After I am finished reading the books I purchase, I usually sell them on eBay. Thanks for starting this discussion, and have a great day!

Thank you for your great reply,I have been known to search places like the salvation army for books. It seems allot of people tend to give their books away and I have found many that are pretty brand new for under a dollar:)

I love to read, and I consider myself, a fast reader. If I can have uninterrupted time, I can usually finish a regular book within 3-4 hours. Thicker books, like the last Harry Potter took me 8-10 hours straight. Normally, I would say, I average 2-3 books a week, depending on how hectic my schedule and the length of the books. I would usually read before I go to bed, during my lunch break at work, and whatever free time I have. I prefer books in print, though once in a while I would read an e-book if I cannot get a copy of it in print or if it is not available in print. Add to that I usually finish 1-2 audiobooks a week, that I listened to while driving back and forth to work daily. So that would be a total of 3-5 books a week. I don't read magazines nor newspapers. I'm on a constant diet of fiction books, and my current addiction is paranormal romance novels. Still my reading taste is pretty eclectic and I would pretty much read anything that I find interesting. At the moment, with money tight, I would usually borrow books from the library. I received buying to books that I really want to collect. And yes, one day, I would want to own a Kindle..but in no hurry to do so.

Yes, I do read books. I read a lot. It's one of my favorite hobbies. I try to read every single day. Over the years, reading books has become a good companion.

Hi Celestos, I read almost everyday. Even if I'm busy or tired, I would read before I sleep...or sometimes until I sleep. I don't read heavy stuff, usually fiction of the crime, detective, mystery or horror genre. It helps to relax me. The last book I read was So Like Sleep by Jeremiah Healy. It's a detective story.
