If it's clear tonight can see Venus and Jupiter with the moon

It's a little late but if it's clear here in the U.S. and other places you can see Jupiter and Venus close to the moon. (Usually the brightest stars are planets.) This was true for Sunday and Monday (11/30 and 12/1) also.. I'm afraid I missed it and it looks a bit cloudy out there tonight.. so far. Do you do any stargazing or pay attention to the moon at all?

I think that's the prettiest moon of all! When it's up in the daytime sky..

Oh so that's what they are. I'm from the Philippines, and I've been seeing it since Friday (November 28) until Sunday (November 30). I've always wondered what they were because I knew they were not stars. It looks scary though; seeing two bright heavenly bodies so close together. Too bad I didn't have a telescope.

I'm so happy someone saw them! And even happier you didn't know for sure what they were!
Yes, one of these days I want to buy myself a telescope, nothing elaborate.. they say even binoculars help(?

I would love to see this in the night sky so much, but I am living in Cairo at the moment and the sky is just never clear enough for me to be able to see anything other than the moon.
I remember my excitement at seeing Halley's Comet when I was a child and I also used to own a telescope back in Australia and would look at the moon for hours on end. I hope the clouds clear for you this evening as I would love to hear your account of how they looked.

I could see the (crescent) moon, but it was ringed with clouds!
It was still pretty though (over the white snow). I love the comets! They're just so 'magical'! I'll bet the sky is pretty big over the ocean, what a great place for you to have had a telescope! I don't think I've ever seen the night sky over the ocean (or likely I have, but obviously I've forgotten it!) My son told me the moon with Venus, Jupiter was coming up but I didn't remember to check it out until the last day!!

Don't feel bad! I go through life missing most of everything!
At least you're headed in the right direction what with buying a telescope for your nephew!

i was so sad that i wasn't able to see the two planets near the moon. it was a once a lifetime opportunity that i've missed. i forgot that day and was happy resting on bed. i love star gazing, i love watching the moon when it is in full, i love the sky when it is already dark. i think that it was a powerful blanket covering us at night! happy mylotting!
