How do you respond to a peddler or beggar on the streets?

I was stopped while going into the grocery store by a girl, maybe in her mid to late 20's. She said she was trying to get back to Buffalo NY (I am in Rochester, about 60 miles away) and had no gas money, and was "almost out of gas". Bells went off in my head because I was wondering why someone would be 60 miles from home with no money or credit cards of any sort. I chose not to give her money, but just to see her response, I said that I would go to the gas station across the street, and give them $10 to pay for her gas, if she came with me. She suddenly got nervous, said, Oh,, her car was at a friend's house down the street, thanks anyway and took off.

In some cases it's really hard to tell whether they are the real thang or NOT. It's this man that's always sitting next to the door here at Save-A-Lot, and he always has a HUGE pan with a stack of papers with some writing on it about a church he represents. He ask everyone that passes by for some money to support the church. One time I actually dug into my pocket and gave him some change I had left over from the $20 I just broke from buying something. I looked in his HUGE pan and I saw some $$$. I just hope it was really for the church.

Sometimes I give them something, sometimes I don't. I go with my instincts, I guess.

My Dear Friend I give them food and some money . I think they need our help and support . I feel very sad about them . If I got huge money I will give them most part of it ,yes . Happy Mylotting ! Take Care ! Ganesh !
