Exchange gift-ideas for P200-P300

We're having our very first Christmas party this year (we're a new company, and most of us are newly grads). So the secretary said that we'd be having exchange gifts but we'd be playing some kind of lottery for the gifts, so each gift has to be good for everyone else. The problem is we come in ALL shapes and sizes (even though there's only very few of us). So what would be a nice gift and where to buy it? I was thinking about chocolates but that's perishable and the person just might end up sharing it with everyone else. Ideas please? I have on Friday and Saturday to look for whatever you suggest :D

You can give books or coffee mugs. Coffee mugs can be very useful for office workers. Towel and shirts can also be considered..

books and mugs is a good idea, but shirts is another thing because we come in all shapes and sizes.

I also notice the numbers. That's why I'm quite hesitant to do another post just to maintain the numbers ha ha.. Have a great day ahead..

You can buy a lot of cool stuff for 200 - 300 php... in my case... i think i will go for scented candles... since that is good for both male and female... and gift certificates are also nice... and the one who will be able to get that will surely appreciate it since he/she can choose what he/she wants to buy... and that kind of gift is always on the safe side...

Since year end is coming, i suggest that you look for a Planner. Busy people should have it on hands so no schedule will mess up.

Oh well, if you're not, maybe the one who will receive the gift is a fan of Planner. Hmmm, i suggested this because i remembered replying to your other discussion, it's about the last stuff i ordered from Starbucks. You said you're 1 sticker down to complete and claim the Planner at starbucks Okay, towel/s for your exchange gift hahaha!

Thinking for which to give as an exchange gift is sometimes really hard. Well, the first that comes to mind is something which can be used by the person who will receive the gift. In your case, I suggest a planner or organizer. You can also give a pen "Parker" brand. It can be personalized by having the name of the person engraved on it. You can also give a wallet or a book. Actually, it depends on the one who you are giving your gift. Try to know what he or she likes to do. If you are using codenames, try the pen or organizer. It is safer and more general.

I'm not a fan of planners or organizers, but the Parker pen is a great idea, but I can't have it engraved since I don't know who'll be receiving it. I CAN on the other hand engrave our company name on it...hmmm that actually sounds amazingly cool.

A mug with a bold statement printed at the front would be nice. But I think they are not that expensive so it wouldn't reach P200-P300. Since its for an office Christmas party, I think something that would help release stress or office boredom would be nice. How about a certificate for a foot spa or something? And a rubik's cube would be great. It can be used as a decor. Its a stress buster and it can relax those brain kinks.

yep the mug and the towel suggestions looks like the most popular. The rubik's cube sounds cool also, I think I'd rather go for that than a mug because we just gave our bosses their own mugs as souvenirs from a trip

it's really hard to think of an exchange gift idea mainly because you don't know who you're giving it to. you need to think of a "general" and unisex gift that could be useful to the receiver, but not so common that it wouldn't appeal to him/her anymore. actually, i was thinking of a towel because it's really useful, but i think i'm the fourth one to suggest that. so i was thinking now of a food container, an airtight one -- e.g. lock-n-lock. you can get a set of these at about P300. these are useful at home and for packing lunch or "baon." i hope this has been helpful. good luck!

THAT is great idea. Most of us are bringing our baon, so that is really useful. Hey cienna, welcome to mylot! Hope I stumble on one of your own discussions soon :) thanks for the comment!

Well clothes are definitely out of the question because one size cannot fit all. How about a cute umbrella? It's been raining a lot lately so that might be useful. A gift certificate would be the safest to give in my opinion. :) MAkeup like a lip gloss should also work if you are all women in the office.

Well, you can give him/her a cup or bottle water.. He/she can used it in the office.. If you don't know who will be that person then maybe you can buy him/her a perfumes that has for unisex.. You can buy so many perfumes out there with 200 to 300pesos only.. If you know to whom you should give the gift then I suggest for girl some collectible items such as bag, angels, or any figurings for girls.. You can also buy her some silver bracelet, earing or necklace in a budget price... While for men you can buy him some watches, scarf, wallet, shirt, or polo and maybe perfumes.. There are so many gifts you can give... Just try to look at the mall..

but I just said we don't know who'll be receiving the gift so it has to be unisex.

Oh coooool! I'll be looking for those sets. That's actually not a bad idea. And it fits my criteria. I just hope they're not like me, my family receives so many towels when relatives from the states arrive, that we always have a new pair every couple of months. We have stacks of them! (But we use them all nonetheless).

For unisex items I usually go first with towel, then a very nice comfortable pillow or hotdog pillow, a unisex bag, or household items like non-stick pan, unisex blingbling and last is bible.

the pillow is actually a cool idea. If I find a really comfortable pillow then I know they'd appreciate it, a hotel-pillow of some sort I guess. For the bible...well, we kinda have different religions and for the non-stick pan, we also have lots of bachelors who don't cook haha we're a young batch. thanks for the comment on my discussion!

The safest gift idea would be gift certificates. You can also go and get a copy of Purpose Driven Life. Its a very safe gift idea as well.

A good gift would be something that any person will actually use. So usually the following things come to mind: planner, ballpen, desk calendar, mug, book. good thing that sales are all around. It would be a lot easier to look for items within your budget. I think gift certificates are practical gifts nowadays. So that you can be 100% sure that the one who received it will get to buy what he/she really wants. Good luck in looking for your exchange gift!

hi oyen. i think to be safe you can go with gift cards or gift certificates. you can just purchase gift certificates from any of the department stores or supermarkets. if you can get gift certificates from a nearby spa or massage center that will be good as well. i think that will be a good gift. at least you know people will use the gift certificate. if you're not keen with the gift certificate, settle for something that can be used everyday like a thermal mug or something that can be used at home like blankets, pillows, or pillow cases. hope this helps. cheers!!!
