Do you have experience with any of these companies?

They are all work from home companies- mostly customer service. Alpine Access, LiveOps, West At Home, WorkingSol, Convergys These are the ones I've checked out so far, I'm sure there are more. A couple charge a fee for background checks, but the rest are free. All are pretty much the same- you apply, take a couple of skill-assessment tests, then if they hire you, you go to work. Pick your own hours, very flexible. You have to have certain equipment and software (nothing outrageous, the only thing I'd have to buy would be a headset). All sounds great, right? Problem I'm having is that they are all extremely vague about how much work will be available, and more importantly, how much you will be paid. That makes me a little skeptical. Does anyone have any experiences to share, positive or negative, with any of these companies, or similar ones that I have not listed? Are there any good ones, or ones I should stay away from? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I worked for Convergys in the call center office, not from home. I think from home would be easier. I just had a hard time with a supervisor. West at Home I worked with them as well. They are a good company. But I moved, and then tried to get my computer back up with them tech support at the time was of little help, so I ended up quitting. I am on a waiting list with WorkingSol. I would just ask about the tech support offered to work at home people. It can make or break any working relationship.

Thanks for sharing. What type of work is it? The websites mostly say inbound calls, but are they sales? Is your pay based on how much you sell?

I currently work with West at Home. They offer several skill sets you can certify in such as Direct Response, HSN and Sears just to name a few. I work with Direct Response. You are basically taking calls for infomercials such as GT Express, Swivel Sweeper, etc. The only draw back for me is all the upsells and additional product offers. There aren't a lot of hours for Direct Response but I mainly work on the weekends using hours from trades. I've done pretty good but would much rather have a part time job typing or data entry.
