What time do you usually listen to music? Do you listen to it loud? Details!

Hello, myLotters. I was wondering how many of you listen to music loud. Do you listen to music out loud, bothering all the neighbors and waking up your entire city? Or do you listen to it quietly, just like I am doing right now? And do you use a headphone? With headphones you can turn it into the maximum and nobody would hear. And what time are you usually listening to music? Will it depend on your mood or something like that? Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I love listening to inspirational music at night while I lay down in bed. The soothing sound encourages sleep and more often than not I'd drowse with music still on and when I'd wake up I'd notice the sound already off because my hubby would turn the music off when he found me already asleep.

Hello, salonga! Hehe, I also have fallen asleep with music playing. When I wake up it seems like I did not fall asleep, it is so great. I mean, you have a nice sleep when you do it listening to music. I heard that our hearing ability is the only thing that works while we are sleeping. We do not see, we do not smell, we do not taste, we do not touch. We only listen. Perhaps songs could have some influence over our dreams. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I do most of my music listening when I'm in my car and going from place to place. But when I listen to it inside my apartment, I always make sure to keep the volume low. If I don't, someone might call the manager's office, and complain. And then I'd be in trouble with the apartment manager.

Yes, I wouldn't like to bother the neighbors either. It would bring too many troubles, and I think there is no need to trouble you because of listening to music.

I like to listen to music to relax me, so I do not have it up too loud. I like to hear the bass but I do not like to hear the windows rattling too. If I am at home cleaning, I have my stereo up loud enough so I can hear it in all the rooms. If I am on my PC, it is not up too loud, so I can hear myself think. There are times when I feel like rockin' and that is when I turn it up. I tend to have it loud when I am driving and lower when I am at home.

Hello, jsitko! I have noticed that many people like to listen to music loud when they are in cars. Why is that for? Do you feel bored because of driving and need something to motivate? Or there is no particular reason at all? Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Hi Munhozmib, I am not sure why I like it louder in the car. I do a lot of driving for my job and maybe it just keeps me alert and awake. It could be because I am alone and I can sing and no one can hear me. That is the only time I do sing, my voice makes dogs cry LOL.

I don't like listening to my music very loudly, because I live in an apartment and it bothers other people. I usually listen to my music at an average volume, or a very low one if I'm in the mood for it. =P I use headphones when I listen to my music most of the time because I'm used to them. When I go in my bus, I always listen to my iPod, and then, sometimes, I have the tendency to raise my volume higher if a lot of people are talking or being distracting. When, how, and what music I listen to depends a lot on my mood. Sometimes, I'm just not in the mood at all for very loud music, and I'll listen to soft, quiet songs. I'm usually not in the mood for listening to music after school or when I'm on the computer because I listen to it when I'm in the bus. xD

I can see then that you usually listen to music on the bus. Don't you find it dangerous? You aren't hearing anything else than the music, so you are kind of distracted.

Not really. =P There's plenty of other people there too, and I don't need to be completely alert. I look out the window a lot, so I know when something happens outside that needs my attetion. =D

I usually tend to listen to my music at a bit below the average volume/ pretty quiet. I don't like people knowing what I'm listening to. I usually listen to music while I'm on the computer with my headset. I sometimes listen to music on my ipod on car trips and such.

I usually listen to music the most on my creative zen when I ma on the train up and down to university. The trip is about an hour and a half or three hours there and back. So it stops me from getting board and gives me something to do if its too dark to watch the passing scenery. The university I attend is up pretty far north so in the winter its very dark and in the summer its very light. I do use headphones on level 18 sound. I suppose the type of music I listen to depends on my mood Maybe listen to U2 or moby when its night and there aren't many people on the train and radiohead, smashing pumpkins and meatloaf when the train is really noisy, I just like blocking out every one else in that scenario.I have over 2000 songs on my creative zen so there will always be something to suit the situation, even if others don't apreciate the music I like.

I am sorry, but what is a creative zen? That's pretty interesting. I have only listened to one of Moby's song, but I liked it. I like U2 and Radiohead as well. Smashing Pumpkins is not strange for me, but I cannot record any of their songs. Now, I have never heard about meatloaf. How old are you?

Hello, cahobreeder16. I have never heard about this device. I live in Brazil, but hey, I did never heard about it. I asked your age because of the kind of songs you like. Got curious to see how old were ya. Thanks.

A creative zen 30 GIG is an mp4 player which plays music, videos, photos and recorded tv. It is much cheaper and superior in many ways to an ipod, its compatible with virtual all media and media synchronisers apart from itunes. How can you not have heard of meatloaf, bat outa hell and Id do anything for love where have you been? I am nineteen why?

Heya munhozmib. I used to listen to music the most when I was driving, but I haven't had to drive for a couple of years now so my music listening habits have decreased quite a bit. I will sometimes play music in the background while using the PC at home, but that's about it these days. I am not someone who plays music overly loud either. Headphones get used a bit also so I don't bother anyone. Sometimes though, I do feel like filling the apartment with some tunes, so will turn the PC speakers as loud as they can go (They're not very loud at all! lol) and go for it!

Hello, James. What is it that keeps you from driving? Some sort of problem? Hmm... Listening to music can cheer you up when needed, or get you happy, or make you sleep. Depends on the music. I believe you should start listening to it again, as it is pretty nice! Respectfully, Munhozmib.

No, it is just plain wrong to listen to your music so loud that the neighbors can hear it. (Also in most places it's against the law and you can be fined.) I like my music quiet. Too loud hurts my ears. I like listening to my music when there is nothing on tv and especially at night as I sleep. Then it's turned down so low no one else can hear it except me.

Hello! It is ethically incorrect to listen to song like that. And yes, you can be fined, depending on where you live. In my country, there is a fine for people who do it, but only in a certain time of the day. I believe that listening to song loud is forbidden after 22:00 and before 08:00. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Some people complain about ear ache after using headphones. Does it hurts because of the kind of the headphone you are wearing?

Everyone listens to music don't they. I listen to Indian music, indi-pop music, pop music, rock music and instrumental music. I usually listen to music aloud when I'm alone at home. The tastes that I have depend on my mood at times. Also I usually listen to music when I am on my bike, either going to college or any of my friend's house.

I listen to music before I go to sleep because it relaxes my mind. I also listen to mellow music, R & B, POP and love songs because I find them nicer that those loud music. I don't like hardcore rock because it could damage ones ear and I really don't like the lyrics of those songs. Since Christmas is coming I and my husband listen to sweet Christmas Songs and we turn the volume loud, enough for 2 neighbors to hear.

I have always had a passion for music. Unfortunately I don't get to listen to it now as much as I used to with the job that I have. Mostly in the car anymore. I will put a cd in at home from time to time when I'm cleaning. I don't use headphones because I havent had a need to. It's a good idea for my daughter though when she is downloading to her ipod. Think I'll suggest that the next time she decides to do it at midnight:)

It depends on my mood or the song. I listen to my music mostly at normal, which is enough to block out my surroundings but not damage my ears. I usually listen to my music when I'm on the computer through the computer speakers, while I'm in the car through my headphones, and at night when I'm going to sleep through my headphones. I find it is most effective at night to keep turning down the music and play soft songs, not heavy metal. That's what helps me fall asleep. I also listen to hard rock music loudly before a sports event to get me pumped up and play well. That is part of my routine of getting ready for my soccer games.

Hello, Ohhcrapitstim. I also like to listen to some songs that will pump me up before a soccer match. They are so great, it seems like I can play better if I listen to them. You can feel the desire to play burning inside. It is a really good feeling, it is like if you were ready to rock! Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I use headphones when I listen to music, but it shouldn't be too loud because it might damage my eardrums. The volume is set just enough for me to hear the music. there's really no particular time when I'm listening to music, if i want to listen, i just put my headphones on.

As soon as I wake up my radioalarm is already on, music will start my day. I will just turn it off upon leaving our house. During office hours, I also listen to my Ipod. The music I prefer usually depends on my mood for that day. Most of the time I listen to the soundtracks of the recent movie that I have seen. It gives me relaxation when I listen to diffrent kinds of music. At the end of the day, music is still the one that will put me to sleep.
