Hey people, lets work together to sustain energy. Here are some simple and doable tips, hope you will follow a few of them at least!
Stop the water when you brush your teeth / soap hands to wash/ shave
Turn off appliances rather than leaving them on standby
Choose your appliances according to their energy class
Favour public transport/ biking and walking wherever possible
Put warm clothing instead of rising heating or insulate your house
Use equipment operating with renewable energy (solar, hydro, wind)
Use low-energy light bulbs
Use rechargeable batteries
Use short programs on your washing machine / dishwasher
Use the half-load button on your washer / dishwasher

I do most of those things. I still use the full cycle on my dishwasher and leave some things on standby. But that's about it. I also take 2 minute showers to save water.

Good! You still do most things on the list, so I guess some slip ups are fine. I dont take showers, prefer a bucket bath, somehow feel I can better control the amount of water I use that way!

We have really bad water pressure so I need to use the strong cycle on my dishwasher. When I'm rinsing or doing hand wash I turn the water off when not needed then on again for a few seconds. Saves a lot of water.

Wow. so its a legit. reason why u do it that way, good! Nice to know u are so conscientious about conserving! I am pretty much that way too, I actually feel guilty to waste anything, almost to the point of driving others crazy (grin!)
