The world must unite to defeat terror (Mumbai Terror Attacks)

India

Terrorism is no ordinary crime and the law enforcement mechanisms in place are simply not adequate to deal with it. All like-minded countries must unite to fight it out. The recent terror attacks on Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, is an ample indicator of the vulnerability of human beings to sudden death! If any one of you have experienced such a thing ever, please share with everyone how you manged to overcome the trauma... "after all the show must go on". And more importantly, what the world leaders must do to contain the biggest epidemic of the 21st century - terrorism.

Yes - the world must unite anyway, not just in connection with this issue but for all kinds of reasons. No, this is not the biggest problem facing the world today - for all of you that think it is - then the terrorists have won. Remember these people do not have a negotiable aim in mind. They are not after a land boundary being moved or fighting against discrimination, they are trying to undermine freedom and democracy. If the world enacts fierce security measures and prohibits or seriously limits freedoms then the terrorists have won. In a free society we must accept that these things can happen. We should look to the causes of such severe disaffection that breeds this contempt for freedom and tackle this hatred at its root. The increased security measures and draconian policing CAUSE the seeds of terrorism to be formed. We need an inclusive policy of positive reinforcement for good behaviour and good parenting to support and encourage relationships and families as these are the heart of a stable community. The terrorists are less able to breed resentment in well-brought up children. Join me in campaigning for equal treatment for BOTH parents and support the family. The broken family is the big disease infecting western society. Tackle this and you reduce the likelihood of terrorism or any extremism taking place.
