Wrapping presents

When, where, and how do you do your Christmas present wrapping? Since I'm already done shopping for my kids, I decided I'd start wrapping, but I'm having trouble finding a good time or place for it. The gifts are all in my bedroom, hidden by boxes and blankets. I don't want to drag them all downstairs, some of it is rather large and heavy. The two youngest still sleep in my bedroom, so I can't do it in there after the kids are in bed or I may wake them. I can't do it during the day because the little ones are home and getting into stuff. I can't do it when hubby is home because he doesn't get home until the kids are in bed. It seems my only option is to wait until he gets a day off. I tried to wrap a few presents earlier today. I put the baby in his crib, and parked the toddler in front of the TV. The toddler behaved but the baby was very cranky and I ended up only wrapping 4 things before I had to give up. The baby is sleeping now, so I might try again. Hopefully he will stay asleep while I get some of it done!

I normally wait until after the kids go to bed on Christmas eve. I have most of their shopping done so early this year I might just do it this week sometime. I have all of their presents in my room in the bottom drawer of one of my dressers.

I learned a few years ago not to save it all for last minute. With 5 kids and hubby, each person getting like 10 or so presents each, that's a lot of wrapping!! One year I did leave it all until Christmas eve and man was that a bad idea. Now I start it as soon as possible. I managed to completely finish 1 child's gifts so far. 4 kids plus hubby to go, but I'm probably done for today since I had to put the baby down for a nap (I woke him up when I tried to do some wrapping) and the other kids will be home soon.

I think I might try to do a few when I lay my daughter down for a nap in a little bit. She is getting cranky, so she should sleep pretty soundly for a bit. I am going to be so busy with orders in the next few weeks I should do it now in case I don't have time later. I have a bunch of orders to do right now too though. I guess I will have to do some of one then some of the other.

Back in the day I had lots of teens to help me with the wrapping. My niece used to spend a whole day wrapping for me. Now it's up to me. I usually wrap things on the weekends. I had been doing pretty good about keeping up. This year I won't have so much being so broke and that will make it easier I'm sure.

I wouldn't let someone else wrap mine for me. I love wrapping, it helps me get into the Christmas spirit.

I wrap them in my bedroom. I don't have to worry about kids bothering me because I can do it whenever and wherever I want. I put my Christmas movies on and I sit on my bed with everything within arms reach. That way I'm buried in presents and I don't have to move a muscle besides the ones in my arms/hands to wrap them. :)

I usually wait till the kids are in bed. This year though I was thinking about just sending them down to my moms for a little while. That way I can drag everything out and take my time wrapping. It would be better then having to drag it all downstairs and hoping that one of them didn't wake up and come down.

Well I hope you have found time to wrap them up and hide them again.

I wrap my sons when he's @ school or his g'ma's. If something happens that i don't get them wrapped before his christmas break then I take them to work with me & wrap them there lol.

Oh, I remember how hard it was to do that when the kids were little like yours! I usually waited till they were all in bed. I keep most presents in the laundry room closet or up on shelves in the pantry. I do my wrapping on the living room floor and hope they don't come downstairs for a drink of water.
