So I am apart of another forum a bridal forum and I have to say that there was one story that scared the bejeebies out of me. Essentially waht happened was the women got her luggage lost by the Plane company and wasn't able to get her stuff for the entire time she was on a cruise. Some of you who are a part of this forum will remeber this sotry very well. Well needless to say she was short on clothing and essentially put a damper on the entire honeymoon. That got me thinking my gosh what if this happended to me. What if it does happen to me what am I going to do to prevent this sort of thing from happening or making sure that if it happens i have a back up plan. Here's a place to put your tips and tricks for a honeymoon. Help other honeymooners out or even just people vacationing period. What we will be doing is 1. Getting photos of all articles of clothing we'll be bringing (i'll lay them on the bed and do a group photo etc. Should anything ever be damaged by the airport you have proof of the sate at which your clothing was in before and after. This means you have a way of saying. I want this replaced and here is my proof (Time stamp is always best to have on your photos.) 2. Be sure that everything we're bringing we have receipts for. We all know that if your luggage gets lost you have to usually claim what all you had in the bag. Without those receipts you could be out a 200 dollar outfit and possibly more. It's a way to keep your sanity should you ever loose this. 3. MY future husband and I (FH) will be going on our honeymoon for two weeks. So what will happen is I will pack a weeks worth of clothing in one suit case and the other week in my suit case. This way if one of us ends up with having our luggage lost we can take comfort in knowing that there is at least a weeks worth of clothing in the other ones bag. With most outfits it's fine because you can always switch up the shirt and shorts your wearing etc. 4. Any medication, valuables, toiletries bring with you on the plane as a carry on. Most of the time we women can get bigger purses to help with these packing needs and it's not considered a carry on. What I have done in the past is get a small purse you know for when your going to different places at your destination and place it in my huge purse. Along with that will be my bikini medication and some toiletries (travel size of course.) then in my carry-on I will be sure to have at least 3 outfits. Preferably my most expensive ones so I don't have to worry about them being ruined etc. 5. If you don't' need to change your name before you go on your honeymoon it's best you wait to do this till after. Then you don't' have to worry about any complications with your passport etc. 6. Try to get a base tan so that when you arrive at your destination burning isn't something you'll have to worry about as much. As a red head I find that if I get a base before hand I rarely burn and I go in with a nice glow :) So what are your tips and tricks? Is there anything you agree with or disagree with etc? Feel free to join in :)
