In A Fog

United States

We have been socked in by fog here in Southern Oregon for days now. We got a little reprieve yesterday in the late afternoon though. But now they say it is supposed to stay foggy through at least the weekend. I am about ready to pull my hair out, I am so sick of fog. Do any of you live where it stays foggy for long periods of time? If you do where are you at? And, how do you deal with the persistant bleakness of the fog?

Fog in Vegas is unusual. Our fog goes on and on, there is no real driving out of it, unless you go up into the mountains. It is just socked in around us. And, it is another day and still just as horrendous as yesterday. Thanks for your response Lakota.

We do have days when it is foggy, but it doesn't usually last that long. Rain is another thing though. We have had several days in a row where it was dark, gloomy and rainy. When the days are dreary I stay inside and curl up with a good book.

I curl up with a good book too or sit at the computer. We get a lot of rain here as well, in the winter months. So far we are behind in our rainfall this year. It usually starts in November, but so far just a couple of days. Thanks for the encouragment.

you gotta do things to take your mind off it. just know that it's not going to last forever and soon the fog will lift and the sun will shine! just think of it as having something to look forward too!

I would probably want to rip my hair out too if it were foggy for days. It is only ever foggy here for short periods of time. Sometimes in the morning and sometimes later at night.

I could handle it if we would at least get a break during the daytime. Thanks for the response.

You poor thing we get foggy days but it does not hang around like you fog does, how do you hang out your washing .Fog is so damp you must get so cold everytime you leave the house.I would keep the curtains closed so I could not see it,play cheerful music and forget about it ,thinking of you.xxx

Thanks suzzy. I do keep the curtains closed and it helps some. We have to use the clothes dryer for laundry. I will try the music suggestion. Thanks again.

I live in the basement and we don't have above ground windows down here, so I can't see the fog from in here. When I get sick of sitting here inside the apartment, I haul my butt up the street a few blocks from the coffee shop, and get a table facing away from the window. Can't see the fog from there either. LOL

Hi there...I can barely make you out...the fog is bad...lol. I can't imagine what that would be like. We are experiencing hot muggy weather and severe thunderstorms every now and then. When it's foggy here, in the winter, it's generally just in the early morning. Some places are worse than others but they are few and far between.
