Dear Friend,We are planning to slaughter a young goat in the name of Allah,Insha Allah. Some people are saying that it is barbaric to slaughter animals. They donot know why we do this?We celebrate this Eid in memory of the supreme sacrifice, which Prophet Abraham (pbuh)had offered for Allah Almighty. He was told to slaughter his son Ismail. He tried to slaughter him with his own hands but God Almighty saved him by putting a goat in place of Ismail.God Almighty wanted that memory of this great sacrifice should remain in this world, therefore it was made obligatory for all Muslims to slaughter a goat, lamb, camel, cow etc every year. And we have the honour to believe in all the Prophets of God Almighty...........

hi moon & awapak, as you know I am not a Muslim but we have so many Muslims in India and around us that it is one of our national festivals. Govt offices and schools and colleges are closed and people generally enjoy themselves in the winter sun. let me take this opportunity to wish both of you and your family and friends all the best and all the happiness on this auspicious occasion. May Allah fulfil all your wishes.
