Can you save money?

Hello, myLotters! There are people who find it extremely easy to save some money. Me, for example. I can put the money somewhere and I will not take it back, no matter what. I will keep on saving if I want to. Now, there are people who start saving money but they take it all back and spend it as soon as they start seeing the first dollars gathered. What kind of money saver are you? Do you have any tips to share on how to save money? Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I am an avid saver, I would rather save than spend, but every time I try to do so, there is always some unexpected expense. Such is my life.

I find it hard to save money, as when I see something, I would like to have, I buy it if I have the money for it. I am trying to do better now though, as i realize that I have to be a little more vigilant and not spend money unnecessarily. The worst thing that happens, is when I try to save and some unforeseen thing happens that I have to spend money.

Hey, rose! Yep, it happens often! We are trying to save money until we find some sort of emergency. But I'm sure you'll do fine! :)

@munhozmib The biggest emergency was when i had to replace a water heater on one side of my rental. I didn't want to do it, but I had no choice, as it was leaking, and getting water all over the place. I hope that doesn't happen on the other side, but it is old too.

I am very bad at saving money. I always think "if I had just a little bit more , I could save it". But when I get a little bit more, I spend it

hahaha That's really common. Sometimes the only way we can save money is if we set it apart as soon as we receive it. Money flies, doesn't it? hahaha

I like to think i'm pretty organised when it comes to saving money and puting it by for when I need it most. I have a vast array of account which I use for different things...for example I use one as a car account which funds the insurance, tax etc on my car. Like to keep track of all my finances using a ledger especially with all the fraud going on lately.

I work several jobs and always try to be "cash flow positive." The only things I buy, aside from necessities, are musical instruments.

Hey there, I'm also a big fan of music! Musical instruments in here aren't cheap, so we have to save a little bit if we want to get our hands on a few of them, hahaha. One of the most pleasant things to have, by the way. Regards.

We invest our money in the stock market and have done well doing that, we only take it out when told to by our investor. He has made us happy over the years we have been doing this. We rarely spend money - usually on travel. We're old and don't need much anymore.investing

Then you're on the main path on becoming truly rich. Spending less than what you earn and investing a reasonable part of it. You're certainly somewhere most people wouldn't go! Congratulations!

savings come from the surplus of our eranings. if we don't have earnings, we can't save money. even if we have earnings but no surplus, then we can't save money. in my case, i have a little surplus from my earnings so i am able to save some money. i have put it in my pension fund and time deposit so that it will be tied for a number of years within which i can't touch that money. i think it is a good way of saving if one can't touch the money for a certain period of time.

Yes, the fact that you are not able to touch the money makes it easier for saving. It is really important to save money for a specific thing.

I am great at saving money. For the money I save is always for a bigger reason and until I reach the amount I want/need it stays saved.

Considering I don't really have a stable job, I think I am pretty good at saving what little money I do make. I also am good at paying off my debt, like I have been making monthly payments to my dentist and what was over $1000 is now around $300

Open an account that you do not have an ATM. It is easier for you to ditch out the idea of withdrawing the money.

I am an excellent money saver. The trick is to delay gratification.

Although I do save some money I prefer to spend it on others and see them enjoy things. I rarely ever spend money on myself and it makes my day when I see someones smile when they receive a gift.

I am a good saver, sometimes. I used to keep a good habit of savings since childhood, thanks to my parents' help. My mother used to give me some pocket money on a daily basis when I was in primary school and on a monthly basis when I was in secondary school. The money is a little more than what I need. So, they encourage me to save it in a safe box. Once it's full, I will deposit it into the bank. So, that's why I have the habit of saving, and seldom over spend. During the first two years of working, I am able to save 50% of my salary, and that's a lot among my friends. My friends always spent all of what they earned. But later on, I spent more, because I need to bear all the expense of my ex. After break-up, I could save more again. I keep two bank account. So, every month, I will transfer certain amount, say 10% of my salary into the second bank account. So in this way, I could make the commitment to save money every month.

I have a goal of trying to save 20 percent of what I make a month, and I put that in a high interest savings account, that is from my pension. I also put the money I make online into a tax free account and I will use that for a new computer. It is easy for me to save because I feel if I spend any money something horrible will happen. Or I will be told I do not need that, even if I feel I do. Brought up by cheapskates I guess.

I can to a certain degree. I try to alot of the time but it seems like things come up and it ends up getting used. I save what I can and if it's needed I try to weigh whether the need for it is important enough to warrant spending it. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

No I am not a particularly good saver ,in fact I am a poor saver the minute I put my savings where I can find it before I know it I will start taking money from it.In order to save a little money I have to put my money in instruments that will penalise me for taking my money.I am talking about instruments like cerificate of deposits ,stocks and bonds and even then I sometimes take my money back but its a little harder
