Have you ever wondered how we learnt to communicate with each other, and what could happen if we couldn't? I guess we would just have to live our life with out mouths shut, and we wouldn't even be in this modern world. Our lives could have been completely different if we couldn't commuicate. What do you think?

I think mankind is resourceful enough to work something out. If not, I don't think we'd survive.

That's pretty obvious since we don't communicate with many middle-Easten countries at all well. We see the results every time there's disaster like the one in Mumbai last week.
Communication is key. Nothing is ever going to work between people, whether nations or individuals, without honest, complete communications.

I think that if we had never created a written or spoken language that we would still find some sort of non verbal way to communicate. Human interaction is such a basic social need that I believe that we would find a way to fulful that need.

If we didn't have the need to communicate and socialize with other people, and never learned to interact with one another, we definitely wouldn't be able to achieve many of the things we have today.
Most of our accomplishments were made by co-operation and putting together ideas. There's no way we would reach modernization if we didn't interact with other people. o_o We wouldn't be able to develop or use many of the tools we do today. We would be *so* much more primitive. O.o
One thing's for sure - the world would look a whole lot different.

I agree with the first poster. We would find some meand of communication. And who knows, maybe it would be better than what we have now. People have a plethora of communication means availabe to them and still we have dysfunction and miscommunication.

Last night i was watching nat geo in that they showed that the chimps and humans genome are 95% similar...
the difference of a few genes has made humans seperate out from the rest of the animals..one of the genes that mutated from the chimps is for communication..
if this gene would not have mutated we would have used some sign laguage or made some sounds to let each other know..
