I know, I know, it doesn't get much easier than hard boiled eggs. But I have found that everyone does them differently. So how do you boil eggs? Do you have any egg-cellent tips or tricks to share?

I'll boil the water in the pot first, when it's boiled, then I'll turn off the fire and put in the egg, cover with the pot lid. If I'm not mistaken, about 7 - 10 minutes, then take out the egg, it should be hard enough. ^_^

That's an interesting way to do it. You would be able to use a kettle rather than the stove.

I boiled eggs with with boiling water. Sometimes when I am cooking rice and when the pan is boiling I put the eggs on top of the rice while it is going to be cooked, by the time my rice is cooked then my eggs are well-cooked as well. It saves using gas and pan at the same time because I only use one pan and once with gas and then breakfast is ready.

That's a great idea, one less pan to wash!

To get my eggs nicely hard boiled I place the eggs in a pan of cold water, I then let the water boil, I take them out of the pan when one of the egg shells splits then I know they are done properly

I have found that it is often worth sacrificing one egg to make sure they're done - much better than being stuck with a whole batch of duds!

I like hardboiled eggs, but I'm not very good at making them. So what I do is cover them with water, boil it for about 10 minutes, and leave them for another 5. Just to ensure that they are hardboiled.

My mom tells me that you aren't actually supposed to let eggs boil (I don't know if that's true or just one of those 'mom' things). I start them in cold water and let them get just to boiling before taking them off and then let them stay in the warm water for a while.

I boil the eggs by adding a little salt.
