I always have rice for my lunch too, sometimes I'll eat noodles. If I'm lazy, then I may just eat a few slices of bread or some biscuits. I do eat hamburgers or sandwiches sometimes. Actually my lunch meal can have a lot of varieties, but I always prefer rice for my dinner.

Most days, 3 out of 7, I have grilled cheese and tomato soup. I use real butter in the frying pan. As Julia Child said, "There is NO substitute for real butter!" I use a mix of various cheeses, shredded, and then pressed in a thing which makes hamburger patties I got from a Tupperware party years ago. I prefer thick sourdough bread, but I use whatever I have handy. My tomato soup is either home-made (preferred) or condensed and I use only half the water called for so the soup is really THICK. Most other days, I have simple peanut butter (the crunchier the better) and jelly on toasted wheat bread or an English muffin. I prefer pineapple but concord grape and strawberry and raspberry and blackberry closely follow. Orange marmalade is in a class by itself but is really expensive compared to the others. As a singleton, I ALWAYS have breakfast, mostly have lunch and frequently skip dinner, which explains why my form is slim, trim and racey...

I am not from China but from an Asian country as well. I also eat rice with dishes for lunch. Its been a long time since I bought any hamburgers or sandwich. Still prefer rice with dishes - it makes me full.
