I don't know how to cook w/o margarine or butter - it just doesn't taste the same - many things taste horrible w/o butter....what are your suggestions?

As far as pasta and frying things, You could try using some vegetable oil or some olive oil. I recommend the olive oil for the pasta. You should use some kind ao cheese or other sauce with the pasta. I'm not sure as far as other things. I don't bake that much. I will give you a great fish recipe. This is for mild fish like talapia or mahi mahi or similar fish. I prefer the later, but it works well for both. I use the juice from half a lemon, a little bit of butter, or cooking oil, which ever you prefer and I mix them together. Make sure the butter (if you use it) is melted. I thaw out the fish if it is frozen and coat it well in the mixture. Now put it in a frying pan on medium. use the extra liquid to fry the fish in. Make sure the fish is throughly done and serve with a lemon wedge to use as seasoning. you can add a little salt to taste. It is delicious and really healthy.

in the grocery store, where they sell the spices, they sell a butter flavoring that you can sprinkle on your food and it's healthy. i think it's made by "Mrs Dash" but if you're talking about using butter to keep your food from sticking, you need a good non-stick pan. you mat also want to look into something like "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter".
