I would suggest you look into the other resorts because they are all generally in the same area, and since Sandals is a big name they can slap on an extra big price tag if wanted. My cousin had gone to Jamaica this last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. He made many friends with the natives, but warned not to go into town because it is not the best place. Also try the jerk pork etc because he smuggled some jerk sauce back to the States and it tastes amazing.

I live in jamaica and believe me it is a very beautiful country.I havent been to Sandals persay but I have been to other susch hotels and believe me they treat their guests very well.Jamaicans by nature are very hospitable people. While you are in Jamaica be sure to engage in a number of ecotourist endeavours like climbing blue mountain and trail climbing in cranbook forests. Also make sure you go St Thomas which is where I live and bathe in Roselle Falls which is a natural waterfalls right by the road. There are so many other natural sites you can go to including Reach Falls in the East portland. And a must interms of cuisine is Jerk Chicken----a must.Try to learn our culture too by interacting with the locals. You will find them a most entertaining and endearing set of people with a lot of talent. PLEASE COME I ASSURE YOU YOU WONT REGRET HOLD ME TO THAT

I can't tell you much about Jamaica since I've never been. I can tell you though that my husband and I went to Sandal's in the Bahamas for our honeymoon and the resort was wonderful. The staff was great. The food was excellent and the island was beautiful.
