When Life Throws You A Curve Ball

In life, we are constantly setting goals for ourselves and working to make them happen, and this provides us with a sense of purpose and direction. It also gives us the feeling that we know what we're doing and where we're going. Quite often though, things don't go as we planned, we get a flat tire on our way to a meeting,we get a virus just before a friend's wedding. We have a tendency to cling to an idea of how we believe things should go, but it's important to develop the ability to let go because sometimes the unpredictable may be just what we need. As most people know, we sometimes meet some wonderful people because we got lost on a country road, or our car broke down and we missed an appointment. Maybe this is just life's way of keeping us awake. What do you think?

Yes, life should not be just a routine ,and the unpredictable is also part of life.

I agree with you an the fact that we meet many people who become important parts of our lives on those not so welcomed side trips that we take in life. If you would have asked me 2 years ago what I planned to do with my life and how long it would take me to get there. I could have given you the full break down and a straight answer.... now... well, no. I had been with my boyfriend for 3 years, i planned on marrying him and having children, graduating from college with my bachelor's degree in social work with a minor in psychology and pursuing a career with the department for community based services in the child protective services. Now... well, I am back with the same guy, still planning on one day marrying him and having children, but along the way, we broke up and I met someone else, but it was an abusive relationship and I dropped out of college for a year because the program that I was in decided to screw me over. I am graduating the 20th of december with my bachelor's degree but not in social work like I had originally planned, but in general studies. So basically I am getting a bull s**t degree that I really can not use as a professional degree. Life is complicated sometimes. Just when we think we have all of the answers and have it all planned out.... God or some higher power decided to rock our boat, so to speak and see how well we can get ourselves out of some random situation. I had my own apartment, a job, not a great one, but it worked, and I was self sufficient... now I live with my boyfriend in his childhood bedroom at his parents house... I am struggling to get myself out of debt. It's getting ridiculous. I love him and that is the only way that I have kept from going completely insane.

This is why I constantly stay open to God's will for my life. If I did not, I would be disappointed constantly. Like the saying goes, "Life is what happens while you are making plans."

This is true, but I also believe that sometimes things like this happen, because things aren't supposed to go the way they planned. Like, if you get a flat tire before a job interview, you may be upset, but it may be that you weren't supposed to get that job, because the next day you get a call for an even better position. Sometimes obstacles get thrown in the way because God has something better planned for you. Another direction, is that obstacles are thrown in the way just to see how bad you really want a thing. If you are determined to get or do something, you will overcome obstacles, no matter how big they are. That way you appreciate the thing you are looking for a lot more, because of the work that went behind it.
