I think my spiritual pricipals and the way I treat others (kindness, compassion, etc) is what will make me not be frightened of the 'afterlife'.

Religion can not save you, You can save yourself if you know the teachings of GOD and take to heart the teachings of the Light and Love of the Great Spirit that lives in each soul to benefit and be a Blessing to others. A Spiritual Source is independent and personal, this source is always true to self and others. How do we come to be saved? When we are wrong we are taught to 'ask in repentance'. Now I want you to define what you think 'ask in repentance' means. If you are sincere, you might set yourself free.

Religion cannot save anyone. The word of God says that we should repent and be baptized. Baptism represent the burial of one sin and the raising of a new person. Religion is like some one name. You know the name that your parents give to you so that you can be identify in life. This is how I view religion. Once you are baptized and doing the work that the bible instruct you to do then you will be save. Yes believe, have faith and work as long as you abide by this rule then you will not have to worry about your soul. Accepting Jesus Christ has your Lord and Saviour and doing what he ask will make you live a life of Love and forgiveness. So to answer your question Religion cannot save no one.

In my own understanding, no, no religion can save me. I don't know what do you understand about salvation and religion. Religion has nothing to do with salvation, because salvation is for individual who have faith in God or whoever they believed in. I would certainly say, NO, because it doesn't mean that you join into a certain religion you are can be saved or you are saved already.

Relion itself cannot save, the purpose of religion is to lead you into a relationship with G*d, and thus knowing and being known by Him saves us. Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, If you LOVE one another"

You will be the judge of you, and you know that we are the most critical judges of our selves. If you can come to GOD the Source of all life to live in peace with a clean heart then you will enter into the kingdom that you seek. There are three paths that we can follow, the path of righteousness which is narrow, the path given by the religious community which is false and the path of deception a dark path that leads to destruction. The teachings of GOD are very clear to be the Light of the world and to follow the teachings of the Christ that you take those teachings into your heart. To be cast out from the peace and communion with the source of all life is to act with deliberate defiance to falsely profit or accuse someone for GOD loves justice and we have laws to follow. If through deception, omission, and abuse you seek to gain here on Earth you will surely lose your connection in Heaven. I hope this helps define what you are saying by choosing those particular verses. For to know what I wrote is to hold the key. Do you agree?

I can not do unto others as they have done to me. It was not how I wanted to be treated and I did not like how I was treated. Why would I hurt someone the way that they hurt me? Do No Harm and Do unto others as you would like to be treated does not mean that others will treat you as you treat them. Abusive people exist and will pay a penalty for their behaviors if not on Earth then the Eternal Reward/Punishment will surely be delved out accordingly. Yes, we are on the same page, but with slightly different strategies at work. You say that the Spirit of Christ is male and I say that Jesus was the embodiment of the Spirit of Christ the Light unto the world. The Spirit is Gender Neutral the embodiment of Jesus just happened to be male. GOD is neither male or female in my belief. This bridges many religious teachings and brings them all under one GOD head... Do you understand what I'm trying to convey? Better yet, do you know why?

Yes I do believe the path of the religious community can be false, because what happens many times is we make it G*d and so it gets distorted, because it is filled with fallible people (just like you and me), so it is important to always keep things in perspective... As for walking a path of pure righteousness, that is impossible without Christ, because He is our righteousness...Thus we need that relationship with Him...if and when we fall he is able to cleanse us of all unrighteousness... I think we are on the same page... In the Amplified Bible it says "the fruit of the Light (or Spirit) is every form of goodly kindness" ... and one basic word that I believes sums it up is simply "Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you" (the law of the prophets)

Religion can not save anyone. What has religion done here on earth? No religion can not save you and man can not save ourselves.
