Do u think celebrities ask for it when becoming famous? Do u think it's just part of the business and when wanting to become famous they should realize that it comes with the territory?

Oh, I think celebrities should have some protection from the papparazzi. No, it is not fair to have someone constantly trying to invade your life. I don't know how that would look on paper as a law, but I would support such efforts. I think the papparazzi go to far.

A good topic. I don't think celebrities ask for it when becoming famous. I do think they should be prepared for the possibility that there is a bad side for being celebrities. "The First Amendment's free-speech guarantee prohibits awarding damages to public figures to compensate for emotional distress intentionally inflicted upon them" (From Wikipedia:Hustler Magazine v. Falwell) Just like everything has its advantages and disadvantages.

i do think it gets outta hand when they r chasing them down while driving, like princess diane for example, i'm sure the papps had a lot to do with the accident.

I think it comes with the territory. I don't know how some of them can handle it because having cameras watching every move you make would get on my nerves a lot, and forget about privacy. I personally can't stand the paparazzi, they will do ANYTHING extreme to get that big money making photo shot and they stock celebrities all the time and what a lot of people don't realize is that most people within the paparazzi are not even professional photographers and a good sum of them are just greedy people wanting to make a lot of money and so they think if they follow celebrities around and get a picture of them then they will get rich, which some of them do! Why can't people just be a regular fan and support the artist by seeing their movies,TV shows & etc and not care about what these celebrities do in their private life. I personally don't want to know or care to know what they do privately .

yeah, i don't support the papparazzi by buying all those gossip magazines, i don't buy any magazines really, i don't look up gossip sites either. any mainstream info that i know about celebs is from yahoo's main page, it'll be the first thing on there when i go onto yahoo. but i do agree it comes with the territory, when u become famous expect ur life to become an open book, u don't make millions for nothing! especially if ur gonna act like an idiot.

I believe that they can pick and choose the type of publicity they get. You can be a singer or you can be a star. You can be an actor or you can be a star. etc. In other words stardom is something that they can work hard to develop. This will insure a certain type of publicity. They even tip off the photographers in order to insure their popularity. A person who is an artist but does not necessarily want all the hype that goes with it, can manipulate things to get more privacy if they want to. I suppose that some are too young and/or not intelligent or savvy enough to know that.

i do agree with u, u can stay out of the limelight if u like, like gwyneth paltrow, she's one of the most private A-listers. Unlike Britney, she makes a fool of herself, and thats how she became where she's at now with the papps.

I think her mother and management should have protected and prepared Britney earlier in her career. I believe that they have created the "monster" of the fame that she has now. But...........she seems to keep coming back for more so it's kind of hard to feel much sympathy for her.
