This is so true. If I had to live like there was no tomorrow I would cherish each minute and start ddoing the things I like and love and not keep putting off things that I enjoy so much thinking that well there is always later.. and I would try to be closer to my family if possible. And so when I diddie I would die happy knowing I lived life to the fullest.

I think the saying does over simplify. You have to remember to live life in the present while also planning for the future. Sometimes it is hard to balance those two aspects of life. Some people I know tend to spend all their money here and now instead of putting some away for later in life. I'm not sure what they expect will happen when they reach 65= years of age, but social security seems like a questionable thing to rely on.
So, essentially, a balance approach seems wise to me.
