I am afraid of the wind

I know that it might sound funny but I am afraid of the wind. I hate to see the trees dangling from one side to another. I hate to hear the howling sound of the wind, late at night. I am afraid that it might do damage to the houses and I might end up underneath the debris. It is a fear that it seems I have never grown out of it. What are you afraid of?© ronaldinu 2008

Hmm there are a lot of things that I'm afraid of. As far as nature, I'm afraid of earthquakes. I'm afraid of the ground shaking and I'm afraid that it might break and swallow us all! Like what to the San Francisco Fault line. I'm also afraid of heavy rainstorms especially if it's at night because you'll never know if it's gonna flood and ruin all the appliances inside our house! I'm just thankful we have a 2nd floor, in case it happens we're still safe and far from being reached by the flood.

That's an interesting fear. I've never considered that one. Were you caught in a windstorm when you were little? I don't have many fears, but, one I have is I don't like huge, looming objects. When we were little my parent's would have friends that took us out in boat rides every now and then. I hated it when we had to go under a bridge. The huge pillars that held the bridge up were a little scary to me and if we ever passed a cargo ship..........I just hate huge, looming objects coming toward me. I guess I wouldn't have been much good if they ever asked me to play in a King Kong movie! LOL! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

A few years ago a wind store made a tree uproot in our front yard crushing my dads car lucky it happened at night and no one was in it because it was a large tree and it caved in the whole top of the vehicle in. I tend to get more scared when the trees are swaying wildly, then with just regular stores. My husband will sent up half the night in a bad wind store in case it blows line or somthing down and cause a fire.

I actually have the same fear of the wind, especially when it I can hear it whooshing at night. Sometimes, I can't sleep because of it. I'm afraid that it will blow away my clothes that may have been left hanging outside or that it would blow down the trees in our yard. My other biggest fear is that of our house catching fire. I don't think I have outgrown any one of the two fears I listed, but I would say that I am not quite as bothered by it as I was when I was younger. Before I would worry about it for no reason.

Even a gentle breeze in the telephone lines outside our bedroom window can sound like a howling gale on a windswept, isolated moor. Fortunately that doesn't scare me. I don't like enclosed places very much unless they are of my own choosing.

I never used to be afraid of the wind, and would go for my daily walk in any weather. However, a few years ago there was a cricketer struck by lightning (and killed) on a clear day on the sporting field across the road from my home - and since then I won't go out when there's any sort of storm. Big branches often come down in winds, and part of my walk is through bushland - so I don't risk it anymore.

This is the 1st time I have ever heard anyone with this same fear.I have always been afraid of the wind, with no real reason for it,I have never been traumatized due to the wind.As a child I would run in the house if the wind picked up and even today I don't like it and avoid going out if it is windy. So I can agree with your fear but I don't think many people do.

I think there is no reason to be afraid of the wind unless it is a big storm of some sort of course. However, everyone has there fears. I am not afraid of anything except for being on a cruise ship. For some reason, I fear that it will sink and I will drown in the cold waters. I can swim really well, but this is a fear of mine.

I don't think I've ever grown out of being afraid of thunder and lightening! As a child I used to be scared out of my mind, especially at night when it was dark I used to run into my parents room to feel safe, grabbing with me a pillow, blanket and teddy bear! I would try and not let my father hear me otherwise he'd send me back to my own room! Even as an adult at night I hate the thunder and cannot sleep, so I have to turn the light on, silly isn't it?

I'm the opposite of u.. I like the nature.. Wind, rain and sun are part of nature, thus i like the way it is.. Especially wind and rain, i dun fear them at all, because i think they are always friendly to me ^_^ I enjoy the breeze when i'm at the beach, and enjoying the wind when i'm feeling hot.. hehe PLus, i dun take the howling souund of wind as something fearful, i will only take it as a warning of things to come next ^_^ haha
