Problems with Medicare

I'm not sure if there's a more appropriate category to put this in, so here it is. I have been seeing a glaucoma Dr. since July. I have paid every co-pay bill I've gotten within 30 days of receiving it. Today I got a bill that says it's 90 days old. I looked more closely at the bill and I see that Medicare has taken 3 months to pay their part on one of my procedures. So my question: is this going to look bad on my credit report? I pay when I receive the bill. Why should my record show that I'm 90 days in arrears?

HI the beaddoodler. I hope that you manage to solve out this issue. I would inform Medicare and the Dr that took care of you to settle out this matter.

I don't think it is going to go against your credit report. Medicare is pretty slow in paying some services. The only reason it shows up on your account is because it has not been settled yet. The doctor's office manager should be keeping on top of this, and dealing with Medicare about the non payment. I know you know all this, but, if you have some real problems with them, please let me know.

Thanks. I think it's more an irritant than a real problem. I know all bills have to be screened for fraud, but I paid the initial co pay for the all three visits in July. It's the ones in August that medicare has been dragging their feet on. Maybe because they look like duplicate billings as the exams have all been the same since the laser procedures.

The thing is they may investigate the doctor's files on you, to make sure that it was three different procedures but, if you made your co-pay, no one can charge you the balance, even if Medicare chooses not to pay for the last procedure.
Like I said, I know you know this, but........I don't know, I just want to make you feel better, somehow?

Hi beaddoodler: I won't worry too much over it like you already know and others
have said Medicare is ALWAYS slow with anything they pay, my credit has been in
the toilet since I became disabled back in 1999 not being able to work, no money
to pay squat hardly while waiting for it to kick, I flat out just don't care anymore
what my credit is or isn't...that's a bad way to be but I don't give a "fig"...
and then too I had Identity theft two years ago and well its all just a mess, but
for your sake I hope it gets straightened out for you; Good luck!!
I get so many papers on so many doctors and things half the time I don't even look
at them, I just throw it all in my special boxes I have...LOL!

Ugh! I'm really sorry to hear about all your woes Dreamweaver. So far, I'm able to keep up with the only 2 ailments I have with some help from my kids, but government agencies do make me mad.

Hello my friend thebeaddoodler Ji,
Well I think, it is not your mistake, it is shear negligence of that billing company/agency, who have failed to maintain and action, once you have issued payment from your side, it stood unactioned, further you check when taht money was removed from your account and system requires to be high-lighted and mistake put on right track. But how do you compensate your agony, why some one should say that you are defaulter. This is to be reviewed. may god bless you and have a graet time.
