Do You Have a Friend Who Has Written a Book?

I have always wanted to write a book. However, I don't know the ins and outs of getting a book published. A few years ago a friend of the family wrote her first romance book which I still have yet to read. Last year someone I used to work with wrote his first fictional book. I did read that one and it was very good. Do you have a friend who has written a book? If so then have you read it?

I have one friend who had a book of poetry published years ago. And I do own a copy. I also have another friend who has written a book about her life, but hasn't gotten it published yet. It is in the hands of an agent and I've read several chapters as she'd had to rewrite it. And I'd be honored to get a copy if she gets it published. Right now, looks like it's going to take lots of money to get that done.

My son is currently writing a book. He started it when he was 13 and he is now 15. It is a book like the dragon lance series. I have read what he has written so far and it is actually VERY good. He is wanting to write the first 3 books before he sends it in. His english teacher is very impressed and has already talked to a publisher and stuff.

Yes, I have two friends who are published authors and they send me copies of their books each time a new one comes out. Neither of them write fiction, but they both write about topics I enjoy continuously. So, I read each one (and sometimes write reviews for them) and I keep them in my permanent collection. A couple of them are signed, too, which is a nice touch. When my books come out, I'm hoping my friends will be interested enough to read them. :-) My fingers (and toes) are crossed!
