Hi there. Knowing more languages definitely help your international business. Which one to learn is depending on your preference. I'd like to learn German because of my husband, he is a german, and in the future we will go back to Germany. So it's much more useful for me to learn German. But i found that it's quite hard for me to learn this language, especially the pronunciation, it's totally different from asian language. But i will try my best. Do you have any good language website to learn German?

Hello tangtang. Hmmm... i'm not learning German at the moment, i'm quite lazy too. Actually i can learn from my husband, but i just don't have motivation to learn it yet. That's why my parents always complain about me. As after 1.5 years, my husband and i might move back to Germany, and it's essential for me to know German. But until now, i'm just a very very beginner. I learnt German from BBC language online. It's quite a good website. You can check it out. And afterwards, my husband bought me a lonely planet language book. But i tend to learn faster from BBC because you can also hear the pronunciation from the website. Are you learning German by yourself or do you go for the language class?

I would suggest that the choice would depend on your intended use. If you went with Italian, it would give you a basic start in French, Spanish and other Latin-based languages, since they have the same roots. For example, I'm fluent in French and I can usually figure out what something says (or near enough) in Spanish or Italian, because the base language is the same. German-based languages are not quite as common, but if you're targetting those countries then obviously it would be a better choice. One other thing to remember is that the standard business languages are still English and French. That'll probably change a lot in the coming decades, but it does mean that most German businesspeople can get by in one or the other. Personally, Japanese is next on my list, but that's because I feel like it. Nothing to do with a sensible choice at all!
