Is your bedroom completely dark when you turn the lights off at night?

I miss the days when I went to bed at night, and my bedroom was nice and dark. I moved six years ago, and my bedroom just can not get dark enough for me. There is a convenience store next door to my house, and they have a large sign and flood lights that burns all night long. Therefore, my room seems to always have light in it. I have gotten heavy dark drapes, but they really do not help much. Do you have a nice dark room to sleep in at night?

Lamp - lights on lights off.
I miss that too I use to sleep with the lights and TV off in my bedroom but after I got my cat 2 years ago I had to start leaving a night light or the TV on I dont like sleeping with the light on but my beloved cat seems to sleep better with them on.

If i unplug the night light that is in my room it is pitch black. If I do that and I have to get up to pee in the middle of the night I will hurt myself. It has happened before. It is just too darn dark in my room. The whole house really. There is a night light in every room, so I don't go breaking my toes.

I would just like to have it a little darker. Those bright lights and the big neon sign is just too much. I know what it is like stumbling at night, I do it all of the time too, trying not to step on my silly cat.

We have two street lamps on the street where we live. It looks like we have a nightlight on all night. This doesn't bother me at all because I don't mind a bit of light on before I fall asleep. It sure bothers my hubby though. Then what bothers me is when he tacks up a dark sheet on the window to cover the light which makes it look really ugly. Unfortunitly if you love the dark I can see the problem with light shining in at night. Have a good night

If you need the room dark, dark to sleep comfortably, then you might have to get crafty. Light can get around curtains and drapes at the top, sides, and bottom. If you can make a bedroom in the basement, it should be easier to block light coming in through smaller windows. A little light in my bedroom doesn't bother me, but if I'm having trouble sleeping.. small things start to bother me which really shouldn't.

yes my room at night is really dark and i love to sleep in there...i have a very big window almost 7 feet long and 5 feet wide, but the curtains are really thick that they do not allow light to get in my room at night...

No, I have my TV on, because I cannot sleep without the TV, no idea why but I can lay in bed all night without the TV on. But when I turn the TV on, I can fall asleep usually instantly. Besides the TV, there are these people across the street from me with this flood light that comes into my room.

No it isn't. But we have gotten used to it. We have alight on in the kitchen. My daughter sleep walks,so it helps us get up when needed. I don't even remember the last time I slept in a completely dark room.

Hello! Yes,and I feel it most comfortable to sleep with my wife and play love games in a complete dark bedroom when we are alone at home. But when children will be present in the house during vacations we make the room mild light. In a lighted room we can't sleep comfortably.thanx.

Yes, I do. I can't sleep if there's noise or if the light's on in my bedroom -- I'd be too obsessed about it. I guess that obsession stems from something that happened a long time ago. See, I shared a room with my sister when we were younger and we used to leave the dresser light on. One night, I woke up when I smelled smoke and had to wake my sister up (she wasn't at all woken up by the smell). Turns out it was coming from our dresser light. Thankfully, there wasn't any flame and when we turned it off and flicked the ceiling light on, we saw that it was all black and covered with soot. We never left any light on after that. :)

My bedroom is very dark when i turn off the lights at night. It is a good thing for me because i cannot sleep well when the lights are on. But sometimes, i am afraid because when i watched a horror movie and it doesn't get out of my mind, i would turn on the lights and ask my cousin to turn it off after i am asleep. :D

Well, I get up frequently at night to check on my children, so to avoid stubbing my toe on anything I usually leave the television on. Even without the TV on the glow from my PC and th eflickering lights form modem provide a pretty effective night light. As far as light form outside I live in an almost suburban area. The street lights don't permeate the curtains, so if it weren't for the electronic devices my bedroom would be completely dark. This of course would be unacceptable to me since I am afraid of the dark, so I would have to get some sort of night light anyway. :o)

It's dark now. We got a pull down shade and then we got this plastic that will not allow sun in and covered the window from the inside. People see the shade on the outside and then have dark curtin....nice and dark. My Father in-law works nights or did work nights and he filled his windows in with sheet rock and painted to match the room.
