I had an arranged marriage sort of.. knew my husband for like 15 months before i got married to him..... someone introduced us.. and we went out for a while... and we fell in love and decided to get married.... my parents got an arranged marriage... but their characteristics are completely opposites.... My cousin got married in two weeks.. quickest wedding i've ever known...... I know muslim girls that have never seen their husband before they got married... i find that soooo wierd...

This is complicated situation for every one. Every parents want his chid become happy and have good family but some times they don't care about our feeling. It's hurt. But they are still our parent. We have to obey them. May be you can give some explanation to yuor parent what is the best for you...

I love my children with all of my heart, and with every thing inside of me, I want them to be happy.. but I would NEVER take away their right to choose who they want to spend the rest of their life with. I can't imagine a parent taking away that choice from their ADULT child! Their ADULT child has a brain and a heart and should be well able to find the perfect partner for themselves. I question any parent who would intrude into their ADULT child's life like that... is it because they love their child and want what's best FOR THEM, or is it ONLY in the parents best interest?

There is a reason for arranged marriages and I suppose some kind of modification might be in order so that there is better coordination between the couples and the ones arranging the marriages. Cheers!!

I can't imagine having an arranged marriage.. without love, it would seem like going from one owner (your parents).. to another ...(a stranger that your former owner gave you to). you have no say in the deal at all! Dog breeders pick the mate for their dog, so they can have the puppies that they desire... love isn't involved in that trade either! But the dogs don't seem to mind! But humans aren't dogs. Love is what holds everything together, through thick and thin.. your love and friendship with your mate is EVERYTHING in a real marriage.
