Cambridge city council (UK) used the terrorist laws to follow schoolboys. It emerged that they were concerned that teenagers were working without having got permission from the council.
According to the council, this 'horrendous' crime investigation justified the use of terrorist powers!
This shows that these extreme provisions were introduced for general use againsst anyone, not as the government indicated in exceptional circumstances.
What do you think of this further eropsion of our human rights?

That's the problem with laws like these, they are the thin edge of the wedge. Once such powers are given there will inevitably be misuses of the power. The people who go into politics are almost inevitably power hungry, to one extent or another, and they won't give up a tool like this, nor allow it to be used as it's meant to be, for serious crimes, and it becomes harder and harder the longer it stays in to get rid of it.

This is terrible. When they first started bringing in these terrorist laws I thought they would be abused and now they are. Did the parents complain? This is an attack on their civil rights.
People need to stand up and say that this abuse has to stop.
