What's your best home remedy for cleaning an oven, and I mean without using those chemical cleaners?? I really need to cleanup my oven from some chocolate cake overspill, lamb grilling, potatoe baking, chocolate chip cookies... you get the idea... I'd put a picture here if I could :) Note : It's not a war zone yet, i've seen my friends oven which is a war zone, but I just want to find if anyone has a good clean unhazardous way to clean the oven. Thanks.

Oven cleaning is a headache for most of housewives in kitchen. If kept for a long time it can be a very difficult job to be get done.I think a mixture of baking soda+vinegar can help you a lot.just aply the mixture and keep it for a few hours, and remove using sponge and water. Now there are self- cleaning ovens and you can remove stains by setting to a clean up mode. If you are using special cleaners be sure to ventilate the room well.

yes this is good advice :) baking soda and vinegar work wonders and are environmental friendly too! plus they are so much cheaper than those strong commercial cleaners.

Baking soda and vinegar? Huh that's quite interesting. I maybe going to give it a try and hope that it really works. Good advice and thank you. Happy posting.

Since i moved to my hubbys house i never yet cleaned the oven but i saw that he is using the chemical based cleaners to clean it. But i know it's not really environmental friendly, just looking for the product which is really not hazardous but effective. Happy posting.

I don't have 1 that's why i haven't cleaned my oven in quite a while. I put a cookie sheet under every thing i put in the oven, so it catches all the drips and spills.
