I have 2 allocated parking lots at my place. Yeah sure I don't use both. But it came with the condominium. Is it being too evil, me... Walking home.. See a car parked in my lot, obviously some person with blatant disregard about parking in the compound in other people's parking lot, decide to go and report it to the guard house. Which will or most probably result it in being clamped and they'll have to pay a fine for it tbe removed.
Selfish? Cruel?
What are your thoughts :)
Note : I don't own a car! Heh, but I do have the 2 allocated parking bays. And it has the unit I'm staying in printed clearly.

It's your spot. You are paying for it. It doesn't matter if you have a car or not. If you don't use it, your guests can use it or you can rent one or both. I had a rented spot near my apartment in SF. It was clearly marked that it was a private space. Still idiots thought that they can use it. NO it's mine and I want to park the minute I get home. It was a pain to always fight about it.

I would have some nice large stickers printed (preferably with an adhesive that doesn't peel off easily!) saying "This space is for rent at $xx a month. If you move your car, you can see where to apply."
Any time someone parks in your allotted space, stick one on the driver's windshield. (Also report them to the guard house, of course, so they get fined!)

I dont think that it is selfish or cruel. That space is yours. That comes with the price of your condo. Them parking in your space is just the same as them coming into your living room sitting on your couch and watching your television. You are paying for that space when you pay your rent, and even if you are not using that space it does not change that fact that it is yous.

No, it's not selfish or cruel. I would do the same thing. I'm sure the cost is factored in the rent charge so if I'm paying for something, I don't want someone else to get away with using it for free. You should try to rent it out and make a few bucks for it. When I lived in a condo, my until only came with one space. Someone that had 2 spaces rented me his other space for around $60 a month. Not sure how much you could rent it out for, but at least its extra spending money or money toward rent or condo payment.
