UFC... Is this show really that violent?

I have often wonder why most of tv channel ive tune are not really giving any fuzz about UFC, is it because of its content about the show that most content end up with blood in their faces with blood rush through their noses.. is it really that violent? I think it's not.. it just sport most likely with boxing only UFC contender uses thin hand gloves and kicking is alllowed. It's also an entertainment right? for real man... so do you think it's a violent?
