Just curious: Does a "best response" get me earnings?

Beyond the normal earnings that the response would get? Is is substantially more than a regular response? Just wondered.

No, a best response does not give us any more earnings. A lot of people have a "conspiracy" theory, claiming it must give more because they only posted twice and the money they have is much more than what they got the last time for two posts. But I asked about that a long time ago (along with other payment related questions) and the staff wrote back to me that it doesn't.

It is a bummer. But I have fun handing them out. And it is always nice to know someone thought enough of my own response to mark it as best. : )

Keep handing them out as it does make the recipient feel really good when they receive one, it makes you feel acknowledged at least..

Wow! Thanks for your informed answer! I'm really surprise though. Doesn't it seem like it could be sort of a waste of time then. I mean it's nice to acknowledge our friends' great responses but it can really be time consuming too! Hmmmmm......... I'm still going to keep awarding them and I also like receiving them but it's kind of a bummer, ya know?

I honestly don't know but I will be interested in seeing the responses as to whether it does or not.. I have had a few Best Responses and I would hope it added another penny or so to your earnings.. Getting a Best Response means that you did put forth time and effort into your response and that you do take your responses seriously.. I have seen many one liners, with no thought whatsoever put into them, so if yours was good enough to get a Best Response, you should be rewarded for your effort, don't you think??

rocket - I've been wondering the same thing myself. I just don't know. My problem is that whenever anyone gives me a best response I just can't work out who gave it to me., I would love to thank them. It is pleasant to receive a best response and I think that perhaps you would earn a little extra. That would make sense wouldn't it? Blessings!

good responses always get counted and if it get "best response" badge too then i think you will get more earning . it is a method for user a to rate the discussion, that means they best answer must get something more than all the others.

Well, i guess there's a basis to that. When someone picked your comment to be the "best response" means that you met a good quality that the administrator or moderator of mylot may possibly picked. Hence, those chosen to be as "best response" are given a higher earnings or bonus as a reward compared to a regular new discussion which has of good quality, too. I remembered an instance that on a certain date, I received a best response notice, but on said date I had only a few discussion and less than the usual comments. Surprisingly, I earned a bet higher than those days which I had posted and made comments. That was only an observation. But, like what I have said, the higher earnings for "best response" deserved to be rewarded. Besides, mylot members pick or choose responses which they think to be the best amongst all responses with certainty and not just because they want to.

Hi ya rocketj1 Na, unfortunatly not, well not that I am aware of. I have loads of BR's and I don't think I have ever noticed a difference in my earnings because of them! Shame eh?

No, you don't get more earnings from a best response. It would be nice, though. ;) Of course, people should be trying to do their best anyway. Only 1 person can get best response no matter what. We should be trying to do our best no matter what. And yet, I can see the incentive in making best responses worth more. But, that is probably never going to happen, and that is probably a good thing. :)

Now that you've brought it up, I'm thinking about it too. I have 5 best responses, but didn't really see a increase in my earnings. Maybe you only get 1 cent for best response?

EDIT: I haven't been mylotting or posting these couple of days and when I logged in today I saw I got an extra two cents. I don't know why, and when I was searching I realised someone had picked me again for best response, which I just realised now. So as far as I know, I think it's 2 cents for best repsonse.

no, but best responses help you to raise your reputation. Have you ever heard of someone telling you that your reputation is made by what others think and vote? well that is how they vote:)
