Would you take a chance and drive your car even if it

does not have insurance on it. The insurance on my car expired yesterday, it is so expensive, I can not afford to renew it at the present time. I am wondering if I will be tempted to drive anyway with no insurance if I wanted to go to the store. I know, Murphy's law would come into place. I've never been stopped by the police before, but I bet if I decided to take a chance and drive without the insurance there is a probability that I may be stopped. What do you think, would you take a chance?

If I absolutely had no other choice because of getting to work and back then yes. I would just try to save up and get insurance with a cheaper company. Until then drive carefully and try to avoid driving at night.

If I were to use the car, it would just be local, but I think I better leave well enough alone. Thanks for responding.

I had to do this for a period of time. I do not recommend it, as if you get pulled over you have to go to court or pay a large fine and god forbid you wreck, but I lost my job and the choice of eating and paying rent came up and living kind of won out. I did get pulled over, but I still had an old insurance card and it was not past the expiration date, since they are dated 2 months ahead... so I got by... but barely and I do not recommend lying to a police officer,. I did what I had to do to get by, but I think, looking back, that I would have doe a lot of things differently.

Thanks for responding, I am glad that you did not get into any trouble. I know sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I have never been stopped by the police, but that would probably be the time I am stopped. I think I won't drive until I am able to get insurance again.

I have done it before. Not something I would recommend for just a leisurely trip somewhere, but if you really need to get somewhere it can be tempting. That reminds me, my insurance is up for renewal next month. Better make sure I have it.

No. I would not take a chance and drive a car which has no insurance on it. If the car is in an accident or something and if I or another person in my car or if driver and passengers of another car are injured, I would be stuck with a huge medical bill that I would not be able to pay and I would have financial ruin.

I don't have a car,so I don't come across this problem. But in my opinion,if you drive your car without insurance a few days,I think that is OK.If you drive it at all the times, you will be stopped by the traffic police one day,and you will be fined. It is compulsory that every car all have the insurance on it.
