Did you watch the dream match of Delahoya and Pacquiao?

I was so irritated and frustrated last sunday, Dec.6..I waited for months for this dream match, but last sunday, my boardmate stubbornly refused to switch the channel to GMA, the Philippine TV channel covering the said event because she preferred to watch the boring films being aired in the Kapamilya network, the archrival of GMA. I was so angry that I stormed out of the boarding house and went to the mall and missed how pacquaio won the match. I came from Mindanao and Pacquiao is my "kababayan" but failed to watch the dream match. I was so furious that up to now I did not speak to my boardmate.

Last Sunday was a funny incident, my hubby is so excited for the match that he started looking in the net for some free and live video streaming. I think he got more than three sites and all of them got caught. Then he started searching again and came across to a free live streaming and just after the first or second round the site got caught too. Immediately he jumps on the car and listen to the radio for that. And me thinking of a yummy Frap hopped in and told him to drive over to SB and spend the gift certs he got. Well even before we got near SB the fight ended and we heard from the radio that dela HOya surrendered. We were somewhere in Ortigas Ave and stuck on traffic and I thought my hubby would jump out of the car and shout .. Oh well after that, when we went home, he still watch the delay telecast on the TV. boys will be boys.

I agree! Boys will always be boys. When I watched the fight yesterday, I was the only girl in the clubhouse where they showed it. The boys were shouting in the right parts. And my guy friends were so nervous before the match started!hahaha

Ha ha ha we had the same predicament, it so happenned that i was assigned to be an MC to a christmas party from 9am to 4pm that day in IloIlo. I have no chance at all, however coming home monday to Manila, Ive spent most of the time searching for a replay and there was none, just a short event in the news. Well, we are not lucky sometimes.

I didn't watched the Dream match of Pacquiao and Delahoya but my relatives and my neighbor did watched the fight. I was in the mall with my sister doing some Christmas shopping. I really want to watched the show but that was the only time we got to do our Christmas shopping. Some stalls in the mall have t.v and i have seen some of the action. It was the talked of the town so I didn't need to asked who won the fight just listen to the people talking about it. Some men would tell the fight with complete actions. It was funny.

Why would you watch from a very delayed telecast from a local TV station? There were a lot of streaming sites offered if you have an internet then you're good to go. Well I watched at Waterfront in Cebu as it is very near to my workplace and it was for FREE, if it wasn't for free then I would have gone streaming

ohh that's too bad... you're boardmate should have given you the chance to watch it especially if she knew you've waited for it for a long time. But I'm a bit curious, does she own the tv set for her to decide which channel to watch? I just hoped, you could have bought a ticket to watch it.

oh yes luckily for me my family is also a huge fan of pacman...my parents watched it in a restaurant and so they were ahead in announcing the winner of the fight...so i really got excited waiting for it in gma...but the commercials are so long and its also frustrating to watch it with breaks...and yes i am proud for manny's victory...but it is a little disheartening because i am a huge fan of de la hoya and seeing him beaten like that is sooo sad.

i guess your boardmate is a solid kapamilya fan and that though he wanted to watch pacquiao , having to watch it in the other network does not appeal to him and will prefer to watch that kapamilya show than see if pacquaio wins the match. anyways, i find the match quite boring. i do't see De la hoya doing his normal punches in his previous match before. i don't if it is because manny was too fast for him that he can't make any impressive or is it that just that he just wanted to have this game or match to end up fast cause he just more concerned about the cut he will get than maintaining his reputaion against a very good boxer. and as we saw that the de la hoya team's opted for resignation than to keep the fight going which may put dele hoya inot more injury or damage that he got. which in a way will preserve the image of dela hoya not having been knocked out in his entire career.

Oh that is sad to hear. I also would feel so irritated if it happened to me. I hope you already had seen the fight replays in CS9 or solar sports or any stored videos in the internet. I f not and do not have any internet access you can also but a dvd of the fight sold in the streets. The dvd even started with Karylle sing the National Anthem which somehow was not that great

I watched it, but I was not contented with what I saw. I was expecting more action between the two of them. Dela Hoya was totally slower than Pacman. He was too old for Pacman. And I hate Pacman too, because he did not totally attacked Dela Hoya to knock out. I thought the Dream Match was an action packed battle. And by the way, did you know that there are many Filipino's who bet for Dela Hoya. They were all wrong. They underestimated Pacman against Dela Hoya.

I did not. but from what I heard and read.. Manny was the dominant one and won a ver decisive TKO. Pacquiao is now ..pound for pound the worlds BEST boxer in his division.

I understand what you feel to your roommate, if i am in your side that was i felt for sure. I don't watch the match coz we don't have filipino channel, so what i did was watched it here in the internet but my connection is so slow so i better turn it off and instead asked my family there in Davao what's going on coz it was televised in GMA 7 and looks like not cable coz of so much commercials. Have a good day.

Awwww. That's too bad. You're boardmate should be more considerate to other people. She could have switched it to the boxing match if its commercials time for ABS. Tsk. Compromise is the key ;)

yup, watched it! i even cancelled a meeting with a friend to make room for watching the match. it was worth it because he won, though a bit disappointing because i think it was a one-sided game. nevertheless, pacquiao made us proud again! mabuhay!

I didn't get to watch this match on television, and only read the results in today's newspapers. Manny Pacquiao overwhelmed his bigger and towering opponent Oscar "Golden Boy" De La Hoya with a memorable performance that shocked the boxing world and created history. To all Filipinos reading this, my congratulations that your countryman has done you proud, and this is certainly something to celebrate about.

yup got to watch it. but the funny thing is i fell asleep. you can't blame me, it takes forever for those commercials to finish after every round. i was able to watch the first and second round but after that, since i knew it then who is going to win, i decided to sleep instead and watch the replay at night. well i believe it will still be aired this week. you can still watch the replays though. have a good day jlamela:)

Yeah, i did!!! I've turned on my TV as early as 11 AM.. you know, it was dream match so i couldn't afford to miss the fight.. I thought Dela Hoya was tough but i was wrong.. he couldn't even give a counter attack to Pacquiao, yay! He gave up after round 8.. indeed, Pacquiao is the peoples champ! =) Go Pacquiao!!!

Before the airing time at GMA 7, I'm already listening to radio. I'm on duty at work and our utilities are listening as I pass by our pantry. And they shouted that Manny won the fight. And as the radio airing finished, GMA 7 started to aired with lots of commercial. I didn't finished the fight because I'm going home but I'm happy and proud that Manny won the fight.
